Where to Get Premium Honey Dates for Chinese Soup in Melbourne?

Does anyone know where to get them in Melbourne (They look like this: https://thehivebulkfoods.com/product/honey-dates/)?

I want the really big premium ones and not the small, cheap ones in Asian grocery stores.

If I can't get them here, I have to bring them back next time I go overseas.

Have you tried places like The Source Bulk Foods or other stores that sell like that?

Please check this page (page 2) for info about red dates and bringing them in to Aus.

    https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/can-yo…

Red dates (Ziziphus, Chinese, or Indian dates, Jujube)
Red dates are not permitted, unless the following import conditions are met:
    * the dates must not contain seeds (deseeded) and no seeds in the package
    * the full botanical name must be provided on a label or invoice (e.g. Ziziphus ziziphus)
    * the products must be thoroughly dried
    * the products must be packed in clean and new packaging that is unopened
    * each package will be inspected to ensure no biosecurity risk material is present.

If the product does not comply with the conditions above it will be exported or destroyed at the importer’s expense.

    • Have brought them in and declared them on arrival. No problems.

Red dates are the small ones. I need the other type.

    Stone cold gangster

  • I don't think border security will let you bring them in.

    • You can bring foods through customs as long as it's processed or preserved. It's really just no raw / fresh foods. I always bring back dried foods and snacks back from Asian countries I visit. If unsure always just be honest and declare it and let customs decide so you don't get in trouble.

    • Those are fine as long as they are declared and commercially packaged.

I'll look out for you on Border Security on TV

    • No sir, I have nothing to declare.

    • Sorry I don't speak English. Can I go now, officer?

      • my Aunty packed my bag.
