I really do hope so …

Perhaps the warning in this case should be: May contain traces of legumes or drupes.

    This deal is nuts

    Where are they from?

      Woolies :|

      • +1

Lol. Where are the nuts imported from?

        • +1

anywhere that grows cashews - from ww's description. of Packed in AU "Imported contents" keeping it mysterious

        • +1

woolies. Have you not heard of that country?

        • +4

most of Australian cashews are from Vietnam

  • +2

Good deal! Btw, is there any place to buy "cashew apples"?

    • +2

I don't think you can buy it here. It is super perishable so people usually eat it fresh after harvest (will rot within 1 hour to minutes). I never seen it in any supermarket.

  • +11

    Thank god, it is unsalted.

  • +2

Wishes Woolies would starts selling the salted and peppered variety. Yummo!

    • +2

Could you not put the cashews in a container, add salt, add pepper, shake, profit?

      • The salt and pepper never stick when I've tried it. These in light salt and heavy pepper are amazing.

      • +4

Salted nuts are usually salted in brine water. That gets the fine crystals of salt that stick to the nut.

        • +1

Fair. Oh well, better for you without the salt anyway.

I get the Aldi pack and mix it in with plain, makes use of the dregs

  • Don't ask me why but I read that as "my face contain trace of nuts".

Also good deal, we haven't had this promo in years since they changed the bag sizing.

    • +2

      why

    • They have this special on rotation regularly. When they are not on special the smaller bag works out cheaper per 100g.

      • +4

No I work there, we haven't had this on special for nearly 2 years. The small bag is regularly on special but this one is cheaper $/100gram

        • Maybe my local is nice to me

You're lucky Monty. Haven't seen cashews at Ww (or ALDI) in Canberra for $13/kg for a very long time. Ww here is rarely if ever cheaper than Aldi's standard price ~$18/kg ($14/750g)

        • +1

I buy cashews every week for my parrot but I get the lions’s share ;) Tip: if you get the salted ones add some hot chilli powder and you get a whole new dimension of flavour!

  • Dirt cheap. Bought some from ALDI on Sat for $12+ for 750g. Must be an oversupply, possibly Covid-19 related?

Woolworths brand though🤮 probably from china.

It was $10 for 800g at coles the other day. Two weeks over a month, so might come back. VIetnam must by upping their game.

    • +1
