How Has JobKeeper Changed?

Did I read that businesses currently on jobkeeper have to increase customers in September to get the maximum amount? Or did they scrap that plan?

  • It has nothing at all to do with customers.

        Well read the ATO website.

Last I looked, JobKeeper for full time staff goes down to $1200 and for part time staff goes down to $750.

Employers need to re-qualify by showing that the revenue in the July-September quarter is more than 30% lower than last year same time or more than 50% for large companies.

Read nothing about keeping JobKeepers at same level. However, there was something around more employees being eligible.

    • Thanks. I just read this properly. It’s the answer I need.

  • Found it.

The reduction in payments is in relation to EMPLOYEES hours.
I am approaching this from POV of a SOLE TRADER on jobkeeper.

I just read that jobkeeper 2 reduces to $1200 for EMPLOYEES now working less than 20 hours a week.
What happens with sole traders who’s business has reduced to less than 20 hours? Any accountants know?

September is covered by the initial 30% drop in March / April (can't remember exact month).

To continue getting reduced JobKeeper (2.0) October onwards you need to have 30% reduction in the Jul - Sep quarter vs same quarter prior year.

Best talk to your accountant as there is probably some room to plead if you are 25% down etc.

    • Yeah that's how i see it, i was down over 30% for April-June quarter and got it, but won't get the next round after my September quarter. sole trader.
