Strengthening Wi-Fi Signal from Next Door

Hi All,

My wife works in the local council library, which is our next door neighbour. As we're poor and she doesn't get paid much, her boss lets us use the library wifi, which spills into our front garage as a strong signal, but not strong enough inside the house to be useable. Does anyone know how I can strengthen the wifi signal coming into the garage so it might be better inside the house?

Cheers, UQ

could try getting a mesh system

wifi repeater/ range extender should work if the signal is relatively strong where it is installed.

That story is different to what you previously said.

There were probably a few reasons the other one got pulled. One of them had a specific use of the internet and not being able to do it outside ;)

Indeed. I tried to slip a bit of bawdy humour past the censors to brighten everyone's OzB day, but got pulled as soon as I hit 'submit'. Tinternet's no place for smut, after all. Repented.

You can actually ask Internet service providers for low rate due to your situation . Few of them provide very low rates or free in few cases .

Do not use library internet .

    • Thank you. I'll heed your advice, and give Abb a call also.

There is something very wrong with continued use of taxpayer funded wifi for private use.

Using the wifi when you are in the library for private reasons is fine.

Using the library wifi in your residence as your primary internet is NOT.

I doubt it'll be 100 megabit luxury speeds, and also his wife's boss gave it the OK. Can't really see anything wrong with it. It's the bosses neck that'll get chopped if something happens. Perks of working there and also living next to work I guess..
