Would You Trust Sydney Mobiles on eBay?

Hi everyone, right now I am in the market for a new phone and luckily today is the day where eBay is running their 21% off deal. It seems like the seller Sydney Mobiles has most if not all of the phones that are 21% off. https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/sydneymobiles

Do you think this seller this is a good seller or should I avoid them? They claim to have 100% Australian stock.

I have a feeling they might be associated with MobileCiti. (I have bought from them in the past)

Please let me know if you have ever experienced problems dealing with Sydney Mobiles.

Thanks.

  • They have 99.9% positive feedback which is very good and 63 positives in the last month.

I'd consider them a good seller - without checking out their stock for Grey imports.

    • Like mobileciti they claim their stock is 100% Australian but i don't know why I'm not sure about that.

We have bought two Samsung S10s from Sydney Mobile in 2019, they are indeed related to Mobile Citi.

We had excellent customer service because we bought the phones at $x price, and a week later the phones were about $100 or so cheaper due to a similar ebay deal - they honoured the reduced price!

Definitely Australian stock as both of our phones had issues with "water" in the charging slot - this is quite a common issue. Took it to the Samsung George Street Sydney store and got the charging port replaced under warranty.

    • Thank you for your reply, now that I know that someone has a positive experience with sydney mobile and the fact they are related to mobileciti gives me a lot more confidence buying from them.

  • Have a Galaxy A73 5G that I got through them with display quality issues on day 1-2 of ownership - refusing to replace/refund it.

Contacted Samsung and have been advised that this is likely not local stock, which means I'll be up for the repair costs if they can even complete it..

Samsung will support this, I've confirmed it's Australian BUT both Samsung and Sydney Mobiles Support is pretty subpar.

I honestly had enough of these eBay sellers Syd Mob, Allphones, MobileCiti (they are all owned by MobileCiti I think). The way they get their stock seems really dodgy. Bought an iPhone XS back in 2019 as it was on sale. Claimed it was brand new however, upon receiving the phone the box was actually shrink wrapped. Apple does not shrink wrap their phones but rather uses a plastic protective film with a green arrow pull tab clearly marked. The phone inside also had a misaligned film and also had dust inside the box. The customer service rep said its how they get their iPhones from their suppliers. I call BS on that as I believe I was sold an open box phone.

Your Samsung A73 should be covered under warranty if not I'm pretty sure its a major fault under ACL

    • Hi Matt86

I am really sorry to hear this. This is definitely not the way we deal with our customers. Please provide your order number so I can look into this for you.

Look forward to hearing from you.

      • Hey mate,

Ended up getting a refund sorted, thanks for the response.
