Gigabyte G27Q / Acer KG271UA / ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD - Which to buy?

G'day there!

I'm having a bit of a tossup between these monitors and looking for advice. I'm after a 144hz, 27", QHD, Freesync monitor and all of these fit the bill. The Acer and Viewsonic are the same price of $469-$479, but the Gigabyte is $529 however it claims to be HDR.

After doing some research I think it's claiming to be something that it's not, on the website it mentions VESA DisplayHDR400 which is apparently negligible. The monitor has only just come out so it's hard to find any reviews on it just now. On paper, all of the monitors have a brightness of 350cd/m2 which would make me believe that the Gigabyte is really just using some marketing flair. It also only has DP1.2 output, which apparently doesn't support HDR.

So what does everyone think? Spend the extra $50 to get the "HDR" Monitor, or save myself some money and buy one of the others which have a lot of great reviews?

Thanks for your time!

  • I've got the Acer - it's not bad, although I don't think I'd buy a TN again. Colours aren't fantastic :(
