I am wanting to buy a 1TB SSD for ultrabook / laptop. Could someone suggest the best available in terms of quality. Thanks

Crucial MX500 is one of the best sata ssds I have one and its crazy fast and it is lightweight and made from aluminium so it feels really well built

check your ultrabook laptop has m.2 slot or 2.5" drive

    • ^ this.

    • What this guy said!! M.2 is MUCH caters than a SSD.

      • And double check if it’s m.2 sata or nvme, only nvme is faster, but also they only work with correct drive so double check that.

        • It is faster but ultimately doesn't make a difference unless you're working with large media (such as video).

          • @CMH: There is a chance the M2 slot/s can run both SATA and NVMe drives rather than be either or, but watch the length! Desktop PCs most commonly use 80mm long M2 SSDs but some laptops might only have an undersized slot that only takes the slightly harder to get (selection wise & cost/GB) 42mm long variants. The slim & light laptop I'm looking at for my kid has two slots but only one of them can take the standard 80mm drives.

If you are upgrading from a hdd, prepare to get your mind blown

    • Yeah ! Definitely. Didn’t need a new computer after the upgrade to ssd

    • Selling laptops/pc with a single hdd should be illegal 😂

    • First thing I did when I bought my partner a new laptop was clone the drive onto a brand new SSD.

Didn't even boot it into Windows lol.

  • SK hynix Gold P31, Samsung 970 Pro/EVO Plus

  • Samsung 9xx PRO are very fast. Checkout toms hardware SSD reviews.
