Which Car Insurance Is Better?

Hey Guys

We are looking for new car insurance as our novated lease has ended.
We previously had comprehensive insurance from the novated lease provider.

Just wanted to check what car insurance would you guys recommend?

Thanks

One you find a couple of good quotes from providers suggested in this thread get another one from Woolies and try "beat the quote option" at the end of the process there.

The one that will pay out after an incident.

This. Way too many people shop insurance on price alone and don't understand, or just assume, what's actually being covered. Even if it is covered things can vary significantly eg authorising repairs with used or reconditioned parts rather than new parts.

Use "20KR" coupon code for Woolies (insurance.woolworths.com.au) 20K points + 10% off your grocery bill at Woolies once a month.

Stay away from AAMI, unless if you want jerky half assed service.

one where I don't have to use their low cost repair centre.

Car insurance is a scam. Unless you're a crap / dangerous driver.

Just follow the data, they make money year on year very easily why? Most people don't get into accidents. If you do, you have to pay excess then higher premiums as well.

    Just do the math.

    • Not a scam. It’s a business. They aren’t there purely for the insured. Sure, many of us pay a fortune in premiums and don’t get a lot of ‘real’ benefit. Insurers spend a lot of money trying to minimise their premiums to be competitive with other insurers while still making some profit as a business.

when something goes wrong I’ll be glad to be insured.

Yea it's business and a good one at that. Works so easily when people are brought up thinking car insurance is a must have.

So many illogical people don't stop to think about the numbers. The data is why car insurance companies continue to reap profits.

I have no vested interest in arguing against car insurance. I just know it's the smarter decision based purely on stats.

  • I’m in need of suggestions on insurance providers. I’m currently with Suncorp insuring my 2017 Mercedes Benz CLA250 Sport 4matic and last year I was paying 2.1k. It’s gone up to 2.3k this year. I tried getting a quote from Qantas insurance and they won’t insure my car… any other recommendations to look at?
