I presume cashback won't work when using the code.

    • ah good point

  • Samsung G7 or this? I know this is 34 inches but aside from that isnt the sweet spot 27 inches?
I mean more in terms of the panel/response/brightness/colour accuracy/light bleed etc

    • I believe 27 is for 16:9 1440p but this is an ultrawide 21:9 so the sweet spot is 32 or 34 inches. When I was researching for a monitor, I found that VA panels had ghosting issues so I stuck with IPS. If you're doing colour accurate work or care about image quality then I would go IPS. TN panels are cheaper if you're just gaming and care more for performance speed than colour accuracy. Not sure how much VA's have improved. Hoped this helps in any way.

This is about the same price as the LG 34GN850 - which appears to have better specs on paper - 1ms and 144hz ("overclock") to 160hz compared to the Dell which is 2ms and 120hz. Is there anything that makes the Dell a better monitor over the LG?

    • what is LG's support like? I know with Dell, when you spend the dosh, they provide awesome support. For me, that's worth the cash.

      • I bought the last generation of these, I've had minor issues twice and each time Dell has swapped it over for a new one flawlessly. They even send you the replacement first so you're not out of a screen.

        • Yep exactly. Dell's support is great. Don't know about LG

        • What happens if you don't send the damaged one back to them? lol

@Quoc11: They bill you for the cost of another one

    • I went through the same comparisons and landed with the AW.

AW has proper gsync module and better support on the Dell side. LG have been reported to be pretty horrible with after sales support, I've owned Dell monitors for the last decade and have only praise.

The gsync module for me is better since I play more solo campaign games that can dip to lower frame rates, where the LG people have said it isn't as smooth. Of course it won't matter if you have a beefy GPU to keep the frames above 60.

  • I bought the last gen of these as well, I'm currently waiting for another replacement to replace my initial replacement because the refurbished one they sent me had more stuck bright pixels than the original I bought. This was back in July, it's been over a month of waiting for stock, and now they're trying to source one outside of aus :S

  • Hi, I never used ultra wide monitor for before.
I don't play the game at all and I used it for Adobe software only.
Do you guys think this monitor is suited for my uses?
It ultrawide better than dual monitors? Any recommendations?

    • what sort of Adobe software? Photos only or video? If you did video, you could edit high frame rate stuff easier
Photos only… well get a more standard monitor for that.

      • Hi, I use After effect, premiere and Illustrator not photo editing though. And I use MS Word file a lot. Thanks.

        • well if you want video >60fps, then having a monitor that can do >60fps is a good thing :)
Doesn't have to be ultrawide though. I prefer one-monitor setups, less cables so would go the ultrawide
