KitchenAid Metal Meat Grinder Attachment $163 Delivered @ Appliances Online

120

I was looking for a meat grinder attachment for my kitchenaid at home. Given the shortages in mince in Vic I figured I wanted to make it myself should I need to.

The plastic attachment for this are always on sale sub $100 but reviews are awful. So I found the metal one which are apparently rock solid. Cheapest I found was on AO. Worthy bargain IMO!

Includes:

Food tray, Sausage stuffer tubes, 3 Grinding plates, Grinding blade, Cleaning brush and Food pusher

    • Says in stock?? just ordered one 20 mins ago

      • strange - out of stock for me - delivery to Sydney….

        • In stock - Less than 10 items left - hurry!

          That's in Vic

          • @bemybubble: Ah ok - it's out of stock in NSW - I would have thought they would have sold this item to anywhere in the country

            • @fattyboombatty: How bizarre that they have diff stock levels for each state. Guess they must have their own logistics network…

FYI, plastic one is not awful - the blade components are steel, and the plastic is hard and tough. Has worked for me several times and minces up quite well

    • What do you mince up out of curioisity? Also is the plastic one dishwasher safe??

      • I've only minced beef so far - chuck, short rib, brisket, to make burgers
edit: I've only ever washed by hand as I didn't think any of them are 100% dishwasher safe over a few years (even if they claim they are)

    • Agreed, I mince whole rumps in a session.. however I think I misplaced the fine disk and the sausage stuffer was extra. Also no cleaning brush with mine… Never been in the dishwasher.

    • Yep agreed. I've had no problems with the plastic one. There are a few bad amazon reviews, but majority are positive.

  • I've always wanted a kitchenaid mixer, but couldn't justify the cost,
ended up ordering a kogan one with a meat grinder attachment, know it wont be as smooth as the kitchenaid, but will be interested to see how it goes.

does have "Durable metal gears which last and last, even after heavy use"

looking at additional photos it does look pretty small though.

    • kitchenaid always have discounts for their mixers from time to time, good thing about them i noticed is that they always have new attachments improvement, and you can buy parts individually that didn't come with the base model.

      • yeah but 500 bux for a mixer used once every month or two seems a bit overkill to me. hoping kogan has been dodgy and uses the same connection as the kitchen aid or kenwood mixers, making it compatible, doubtful, but could make things interesting.

        • to be fair, i paid around $270 for mine. but it's not the 'full sized' version.

around the same time, the full sized artisian range at that time was going for 300-400 with some stuff stacked.

so like i said, if you really want one, just have a lookout for it. but if you need a mixer now, then yeah, anything you fancy now will do.

        • I've found that it's been a case of using it more now that we have it. The dough attachment gets a workout on pizza night, for example.

@awaiko: The flat beater gets a workout from me, I use it from mixing meat for meatballs and dumplings to washing rice during winter.

  • took months for them to get this in
    Got mine last week

  • Thanks OP, your post reminded me my sister wanted one and her birthday is soon!

I got one from Catch for $152.10 delivered (used UNiDAYS 10% code and signed up for a Club Catch trial for free delivery).

    • was just about to post this, also if you were lucky enough recently to get a gift card for 10% off for additional discounts. Not sure if the 3% cashrewards cashback will work as well?

  • Perfect for my Kingsman 2 cosplay.

    • I don't get it…

edit: wait - i just got it. Too small though :/

  • is it of any use for a vegetarian ?

I've had my eye on this replica version for a while on Amazon. The reviews are really good and it's a fraction of the price. Not bit the bullet yet.
