Which Mattress to Buy: Sealy Posturepedic or Ecosa?

Hi,

Looking to buy a new King Single Mattress. My choice is between these two:

  • Ecosa ($700, was $900, https://www.ecosa.com.au/ )
    • Foam based, water and dust-mite proof, and adjustable firmness.
  • Sealy Posturepedic: Singles Uno Tranquil Mattress ($650, was $1400, MYER Mid-Year Sale)
    • Pillow top (Premium comfort foam layers for plush firmness) and Inner spring based (Titanium upgrade).

Can people indicate which of the two they prefer and why, AND IF they have a better alternative mattress.

Update: bought the Sealy Posturepedic

Thanks

  • Queen, more room for special times.

  • We have bought ergoflex comes in a box and very happy with it. Have King single and King size.
May not be in your budget but sometimes they can have good sales. Also i think they have a 90 day trial period, where if you dont like it you can return it full refund provided. They then donate your used mattress to charity which they organise pick up for.

The KS Ergoflex is about $740 delivered at the moment. A review I saw highly recommended it for back sleepers. I'm concerned it maybe too firm and hot. Can you give more insight?

      • I am a side sleeper and sometimes back. Have not had any issues, very comfy.
I dont find it hot, but thats why you have the free trial period. We also have mattress protector and sheet on top, not sure if that helps with stopping the heat coming through.

Havent trialed a seal posturepedic, but in a search for a new mattress I have trialed (King):
    - Sleeping Duck
    - Koala
    - Zenna
    - ErgoFlex
    - Ecosa.

For me, Ecosa has been the best all rounder. Comfort, support, firmess, partner disturbance.

    • There is also 624, which we tried just because it was cheaper but then went back to Ergoflex for king single.

    • Ecosa has a lot of good reviews. Not sure how much is believable though. In terms of appearance it looks a lot cheaper than a Sealy Posturepedic - seems like alot more material is in a Sealy…

Many of those reviews are fake, Product Review is littered with fake reviews when it comes to mattresses. Many of them will "compensate" you for taking down a negative review.

You can check which are fake, usually ones that only have 1 review

    • you sent all the others back?

  • Check Sleep Republic out. I have a Queen mattress from them and they are very good. Previously had a Sealy mattress but sold that off as I didn't particularly like it. King single is $729 and they have a 100 day trial guarantee on their mattresses as do a few other manufacturers. Free delivery.

I was tossing up between Sleep Republic and Sleeping Duck at the time. Decided on Sleep Republic as it was cheaper and had an offer for a Bamboo sheet set (fitted sheet, 2 pillow covers) included which is an ongoing offer.

  • All my beds are from Sealy Posturepedic, i buy mine from Harvey Norman or Domayne :)

I also suggest nice linen sheets to go with the new bed :)

I have a Sealy's Posturepedic - within 6 months 3 out of the 4 sides had come off.
Sealy's did come and repair the mattress, but we were left without a mattress for the repair time.
    My advice -
    If you're looking for
    Hard
    Sturdy
Well Priced Mattress - LOOK ELSEWHERE

On the other hand, like me, you like falling into the brand trap - Sealy's will gladly have your money.
    Hope this helps.

    • Which type/model of Posturepedic?

      • Hi BongoOB,

        Says Sealy Posturepedic Premium
        Size - King

No such thing. Thanks for trolling. Please try harder 😉.

            @MuddyClear: Excuse Me,..
A simple "Thank You" would have sufficed..then again, If you have a dirty mind, all you see is dirt around.

  • King Single - you will be very limited with buying sheets. Not many come in this size. Why not get a Double?

    • +1

Room is too small for double. The way things are going, single xl (extra large) beds will be a common thing in the future.

    • +1

      Double is shorter than KS.

  • Just got an Ecosa the other day and so far so good. Have left it on the firmness setting it came out of box with and find it amazing for us. No more waking up sore! The little tacker already knocked a mug of coffee over it and just unzipped the cover and chucked it in the wash.

    • It comes shipped with the softest setting as default…

Good luck with putting the cover back on. Heard it can be tricky!

  • If you're looking to save some cash, I bought a mattress from this independant guy, Bretts Beds:
    http://www.brettsbeds.com.au/?Bonnel_Spring_Foam_Pillowtop_M…

Amazing value, very comfy and 8 years on it's still going strong.

Even bought a second mattress for the misso when we started dating and she needed a new one, just as good.

    • $390 for King. Cheap indeed. Only 3 years warranty vs 10 years standard.

P.s. your profile pic looks similar to the picture on the website bretts bed 😀

      • Haha the similarity is purely coincidental :P

TBH the mattress I bought from BB came with 10 years warranty. Either they've changed the mattresses or the warranty, hopefully the latter.
