      This is a very broad statement that is false. In many instances it can decrease performance, and in most cases it will decrease filtration ability. If you can source cool air, the higher flow will generally result in better performance, at the very least better throttle response.

        That's why I specifically wrote "alone" i.e. without other modification.
        Broad statement that is true.

        Higher airflow can be achieved from a different panel filter with stock airbox, which is normally already routed to cool air. Pod filters without proper thought around the design of the whole system can reduce throttle response by changing air flow path/characteristics.

        My statement is to protect buyers from purchasing this specific item. If you are thinking about car modifications to the above detail then you probably won't be buying this filter anyway.

            @onlinepred: Although an older engine that uses a top mount type filter, I have a supercharged and throttle body injected 302w and for curiosity we did back to back dyno runs with and without an air cleaner.

            Result? 3hp difference in favour of no filter. For the record the air cleaner is tiny…6" diameter x 4" high and a paper filter at that.

            No way will simply changing a filter realistically give you any more power unless your original filter is clogged.

    for people who have no idea what this is, you don't need it.
    for people who are worried about air intake 'blockage' and no idea what this is, then read up your manual and learn how to replace the stock air intake filter in your car. grab one from your parts shop from the dealership, and replace it yourself.

    typically your usual 'servicing' is just some guy using an air pressure hose, air spraying the old paper filter clean.

      Yeah, for most cars will have a placebo effect… If not worst. As it sucks the hot air directly from the engine bay…

    Leaving aside these type of filters can do more harm to your car than good, this seller's website domain has been registered on 2020-05-18 via a Chinese registrar. Anyone interested Look up the whois details. Even if someone wants to buy this garbage why would they pay more (than aliexpress) and buy from some random Chinese website created a couple of months ago?
