Have You Ever Been Asked at 7-Eleven Where You Locked Your Fuel Price?

I have now been asked twice when paying for my fuel at 7-eleven where I locked my price.
My answer has been “I don’t know, my husband locked it”.
Tonight I got the response - “Must be a secret location hey?”
And I replied - “Yeah must be”.

I am technically not lying I suppose, because my husband does lock it for me and I actually don’t know which location he has chosen! (This time it was WA apparently). It must be more suspicious these days with some state borders closed.

Anyone else get asked too? What response do you give?

Permanent penalty box for the above… Good!

  • Really, locking in a price from WA and living in QLD, thats a bit rich. No wonder they are on to you.

Then we find that 7/11 decide this is being really scammed, and thats the end.

Are you salty you don't have cheap fuel anymore?

  • My lock is consistently 40c below local. Staff are always amazed at the discount (100l)

    • How do you do this?

      • Fake location.

I have been asked twice and they said that is a good way to get the discount when I told them.

I work on the railways and travel all over the Sydney network daily, I look at petrol pricing apps and get an idea what the lowest price is. When I find a price close to the lowest travelling around the network I lock it in.

My best saving is $38, I locked 98 premium in at 94 cents a litre as the store ran out of 91 so they priced the 98 at what the price 91 should of been at.
A few days later when I filled up the local store price for 98 was 171 a litre.

    I regularly save 25-40 cents a litre.

    • Now thats a genuine perk of the job 👍
