Looking for Budget Cordless Vacuum

Hi All
I am looking for budget cordless vacuum cleaner under $300. I am down to either Xiaomi Dreame V9P with motor head or Vax blade Pet pro, which is on special at Myers and have positive reviews. Also Vax comes with 2 years warranty.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

    Wait for Aldi

    • Heard Also vacuums aren't good in quality and suction

  • I bought a cheaper model pet Vax from Target a few years back for around $100. I’ve been pretty happy with it, good suction, easy to empty and charge. Target have some cheaper models. Your model same price at Bunnings.

  • I've never heard of a Vax until today but I was also looking for stick vacuum for a while. I noticed the V9P popping up every couple of months so I decided to pull the trigger. It got delivered last week and i'm pretty happy with it. The general consensus on ozb seems to be it's comparable to a dyson v7. I plan on using mine in conjunction with my robot vacuum.

    • Cheers, do you use mostly on carpet or hard floor?

  • Have been using a Vax VX63 for just over two years - good suction comparable with earlier model Dysons - maybe up to about V7-V8. Like the push-on push-off button instead of Dyson's trigger which you need to keep your finger on, a bit top heavy, bin too small and opening the bottom bin lid won't let you empty the bin completely because dust and dirt is always trapped between the filter basket and the side of the bin, so you'd have to get your hands dirty by removing the top, take the filter basket off and give it a good shake to empty it completely.

Has a "boost" mode and a switchable power brush bar which we've always kept switched on anyway - the low speed mode does nothing. At boost mode with the brush bar on it's good enough to replace our corded Dyson barrel which we now only use for the big jobs.

Got it for less than $200 from Bing Lee from an eBay 20% off sale so I'm not complaining, oh and the bin lid hinge just broke, not sure if it was me being hamfisted and trying to bang the lid closed or if the hinge is weak, still usable though. For the money you get what you pay if you got it at a discount, and it does a decent job.

Would I buy it again? I think I'd shop around for something nicer this time.

  • I bought this one: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/cordless-stick-cleaner---bl…

I'm not going to rave about it or anything, but for $100, it does the job quite well.

    • How's this on Carpets ?

      • It seems fine to me. I'm not a vacuum connoisseur though, LOL.
