Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 20.9.1 Now Available

Today I received notification that the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 20.9.1 is now available https://www.amd.com/en/support?utm_source=pardot&utm_content… .I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen2 that works well.
My question, is it worth while to install this update ?

It's usually wise to keep all drivers up to date.

OP, make sure you have a copy of the current (working) version of your drivers https://www.amd.com/en/support . I've had some newer versions of Adrenalin cause my laptop to freeze on startup and I've had to roll back, complete waste of time. Now, I don't upgrade unless I need to - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    • Yes that was my concern also most of the updates are pushed out by Lenovo while this one isn't.

FWIW, I found the newer versions would cause the fans to spin up as Windows starts and basically lock the machine up due to 100% CPU. Solution was to reboot into safe mode, uninstall newer Adrenaline version, reboot again then apply older version.

Have a Ryzen 3 2300U so the poor thing didn't have a lot to give before it got over worked :)

Got sick of it after most of the upgrades did it, so have rolled back to 2019 version and it's been stable every since :)

Thanks - I will sit on the fence with this one as I don't have a problem with the way mine runs.

Read what the update changes entail.

If they benefit you then upgrade.

for laptop, only update from your laptop maker release

    • Thanks that's what I thought .
