    Ordered and got a cancellation email.

    • That's crap. Mine shows as delivering next week, none in stock near me though so I assumed if its still available online then anywhere should be able to receive one and not depend on local stock.

      • That's good you managed to get one… will wait for another sale :)

    Ebay Big W still got stock, just oredered one. And theres is a "Spend and Save on Eligible Items" voucher which knocked off $10 (not sure if this is only valid for ebay plus members though). So the total came down to $149.20

    A truly fantastic set, easily one of the best scale Lego car models ever designed and the boxy shape of the old Mustang translates very well into Lego (plus the optional "hot-rod" modifications in the set that you can customise it with make for a very versatile model that can look good with other conventional car models or just look unique on it's own). Looks even better on a display stand.

    • How do you rate this against the Bugatti, Sian and Landrover..which are the others have caught my eye. This will be my first build and hoping to build up.

        They're not really comparable in either build or aesthetics.

        The Bugatti, Sian and Landover are Technic models, so you've got entirely different construction techniques (studless) as opposed to the Mustang which is a Creator set and therefore predominantly uses studded construction with a small amount of Technic building methods. The Mustang is much easier to build due to it's mostly studded construction and smaller piece count and a lot more fun to build as well.

        The Mustang has the best proportions and play features of all of them, but the Sian in my opinion wins in terms of sheer visual appeal and eye-catching design, it's the best flagship Technic car set in my opinion and makes the older flagships like the Bugatti Chiron and Porsche 911 GT3 RS look rather crude and awkward (though to be fair they have difficult shapes to emulate in Lego pieces). I would rate the Landover Defender above the Chiron as well, as it's a lot more faithful to the original vehicle and more detailed.

        The Mustang looks more at home when displayed alongside the other Creator Expert vehicles like the current VW Beetle, VW Camper Van, Fiat 500, Aston Martin DB5, Harley Davidson and the older Ferrari F40 and Mini Cooper.

          Thanks. Confirmed what I was leaning towards….Sian followed by Landrover and not that impressed by the look of the Bugatti.

            @JamesLucas: Good choices.

            The Mustang is a great start to your collection though, you won't be disappointed.

            Normally I stick to the Lego Technic and Star Wars themes exclusively but I couldn't pass up the Mustang as it's a landmark Lego vehicle model and it's one of those rare sets that from a distance or to the untrained eye, you forget it's actually Lego. It's static model-esque in it's appearance, sort of like the Lego UCS Slave I (another personal favourite).

        Don't forget there's quite a price, piece count, and build time difference.

        • Yep. Figured I'd start with the mustang, if I enjoy it then move up in difficulty and price. I like the look of these as model on the shelf, the fact you build them yourself adds to the appeal. Mustang and Sian for the looks, Landrover for the build challenge. However I think Sian is probably the harder build right?

            @JamesLucas: Pretty similar really, Sian and Land Rover. Complication comes from gearboxes and moving parts which they both have.

    Got this when it was $179 from Myer. Great build, probably the Lego build I've enjoyed the most. Love the customizations too.

  • Think it's sold out in Vic
