I am really struggling with this, I need to send an expensive piece of jewellery back to its owner in California. I would have flown with it but with there being no flights, I need to post it. The problem is I can't find any provider that will insure it. It's a ring but the value is around $40k. Fedex says they will only insure up to $10k, Aus Post $5k. Does anyone know how I can send and insure something of this value?

You will need to take out your own private insurance more than likely, or talk to a jeweler, and ask them how they insure their international shipped items that are expensive.
Thanks for the replies. I had also contacted DHL, Couriers Please, TNT and all offer too low insurance. Tried a couple freight insurance services and they all declined quotes due to the nature of the product. Confusing AF.
Just one of those things that will probably have to wait until you can fly there unfortunately.
How did they send it to you?
Check all the courier companies, there are more than just Fedex/Auspost.
Cut it into 4 pieces and send it in 4 packages :)
