Looking for recommendations for ceiling fan with dimmable E27 lightbulb socket

Hi Ozbargain,

My house currently has ceiling fans with attached LEDs that can't be replaced. Unfortunately, many of them have begun to all flicker and I am looking to replace them.

Do you have any recommendations for ceiling fans that has a dimmable Edison light bulb socket? Would prefer them to be quiet fans that blows enough air and hopefully around/under $200-$250 ea.

Thank you.

  • I have found this (https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/futura-132cm-fan-in-white?…) from beacon. Has anyone tried this product?

  • Why not just fix the existing unit by replacing the led strips entirely.

Rip out the LED and solder a new one in. If you do it yourself with some average quality LED strips, it may cost less than $30.

The wastage of throwing out an entire ceiling fan to change a lightbulb. @.@

    • I have tried that unfortunately this particular model has the problem with the board itself. I can't remember the model number from the top of my head but many people are reporting the same problem and the only way to get the new board is through the manufacturer who have told me that my products are out of warranty so won't be able to buy/replace the boards.

      • I see.

Also, the link you provided is a fan without led. Why not use your current fan since your end result would he the same?

        Fan with no light.

        • Oops my bad. This is the one I was meant to link (https://www.beaconlighting.com.au/airfusion-quest-ii-132cm-f…). Has ES socket so easily can change the light it seems. Is it possible to estimate how much noise it will generate based on the fan speed?

            No.

Blade design affects airflow to noise ratio. Without testing, it is anyone's guess (unless you have an advanced understanding in the field of air propulsion).

You'll need to go in and listen for yourself.
