Will be the nice cherry on top for this shitty ass year.

At least you can say it’s got the same amount of PS1-3 backwards compatibility as the PS5.

  • +23

Rockstar trying to figure out how to launch GTA 5 for this

  • How do you know what paper size to print this on?

    • +9

If you print using Acrobat reader and choose ‘poster’ it should print over as many pages as it needs to be scale.

  • +8

The kids can now play chefs! Theres only one stove top though so :O

    • print 2, dad (mom)!

  • +9

I can only imagine the amount of these that are going to sell on eBay (for real prices)

    What Should Not Be Posted

    Free Multimedia Content & Websites
There are so many useful free multimedia content (e.g. ebooks, videos, photos, software, apps etc.) and websites out there that if we listed every great one, then we would be inundated with deals. Feel free to discuss any of these in one of our forums.

    Not a bargain

    • +3

Don’t see how it’s any different to deals like this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/528632

      • -2

It that was always free, then it's not a bargain.

        • With a quick search I counted 7 highly rated deals for activity sheets in the last year which have all always been free. No difference.

      • +5

You don’t know the difference between a 69 page activity book and a paper cutout of a gaming console??

        • The other activity sheet deals posted have always been free as well. Whether it’s 2 pages or 69 pages the nature of the free product is exactly the same: it’s a PDF you print out.

          • +3

@mr_me450: So by that same logic, I can post every instruction manual as a separate deal? It’s a PDF, its free and it will give you much entertainment reading.

            • +2

@pennypincher98: Why would you post random instruction manuals? This is a craft activity people can actually have fun with, giving kids in lockdown something to do as they look forward to a new console coming out. Alternatively, it’s a free and easy way to check how the console fits in your living room space. It has practical purpose, which posting any old random PDF does not have. Seems pretty obvious the function of the PDF is the most important factor of whether people would qualify it as a deal.

              • +2

@mr_me450: How are kids going to have fun crafting their very own paper model xbox? On what planet is this fun?

                • +1

@noscopedJFK: Don’t have kids do you? Of course they’ll have fun with it. It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than building the Lego NES for $380 (although that is fun too).

                  • +1

@mr_me450: I do have kids yes. We’d probably spend 20 mins making this, they’d be frustrated “it didn’t turn on” and then my dog would probably eat it.

                    • +2

@noscopedJFK: Get some polystyrene or cardboard and glue the printouts to it, then stick a phone inside it with a few good games or an emulator. Use Bluetooth to connect to an Xbox controller and cut some holes for the cables to connect your phone to the TV. Volia, at least half a day of making fun stuff with your kids. Spend the other half playing with your dog and it’ll be good memories for everyone all ‘round.

                      • +2

@mr_me450: You know what? I’m going to do exactly that tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.

    • It pretty much depends on the mod's mood that day what stays up and what comes down. I'm pretty sure if they didn't get any today, this would have been removed in minutes.

  • +18

Come on, the new XBOXs are rectangular boxes. Don't waste paper on this, just get a ruler and job done:

    Dimensions -

    XBOX SERIES X : 301 mm × 151 mm × 151 mm. Total Volume - 6.86 litres. Weight - 4.45kg / 9.8lbs.

    XBOX SERIES S : 275 mm × 151 mm × 65 mm. Weight - 4.25 pounds (1.93 kg)

    • Agreed. This isn't a bargain. Use a ruler.

      • +1

A ruler? Like, the queen? You really think she would do one of these up for me?

    • And if you need toe 1:3 measurements, just follow directions above and fold your tape measure into 3.

  • +4

Sorry but this is not a deal and definitely belongs in forums

    • +7

What’s the difference between this and other free activity sheet deals?

      • -6

This isn't an activity, it's stupid.

        • +7

Didn’t realise you were the official word on what people can choose to have fun with.

          • +2

@mr_me450: Now you know. Not sure how a rectangular box is "fun", but whatever floats your boat I suppose. It sure as hell isn't a deal, or a bargain though.

            • @brendanm: This cardboard box just tells me how boring the Xbox design is. Yawn. One PS5 for me please, I'll pay more than a Series S for a decently performing console.

      • This was never a paid product, the scholastic activity sheets etc WERE previously charged and hence they have value.
Put it in the forums where it belongs.

Otherwise I’d feel perfectly justified linking to an STL file for a LEGO brick on thingiverse which you print yourself at home as a bargain.

      • Well considering this got moved to forums I was obviously right. I can see you are getting offended by the down votes reporting that its not a deal. I get that you think its great to share that this is something you can get for free but it was never something that was paid for and its basically just a design you can print off.

  • +3

    So, so sad…

  • +5

and 1/3 scale if you prefer

At this point I lost all remaining faith in humanity.
Fair enough if you can’t use a ruler and don’t have any judgement for a 1:1 scale.

But what could possibly be the point of requesting one a third of the size??

    • +3

People like making models of stuff but don’t necessarily want one that big. It’s not that complicated.

      • Its not complicated at all lmao. That’s the whole thing.
If you want to make a 1:3 scale, divide the measurements by 3.
Who knows why you want to make a small scale though - is it because those people are too poor to be able to afford the new one yet still want it displayed?

        • +3

People have models and figurines of all sorts of stuff. It’s supposed to be fun, not a personal insult to you.

          • +1

@mr_me450: This’ll go perfect on my
            1/3 Malibu barbie dream house.

  • Still more power than the S 😂

    • I'm going to start bullying kids at school who buy the S, that thing is a joke.

  • If they need to make cutouts for this shit then it's simply too bulky!!

  • +12

Take my upvote to upset those who have way too much emotional investment in your post.

    • +6

      I just find it hilarious
      a) Microsoft thought it was a good idea
      b) OP thought it was a deal
      c) The priceless comments to have come from it

This has made my night so much better, at the expense of a few braincells.
I better see this on the front page soon, would just be a testament to how far we have evolved as a species.

  • -1

    "deal"

  • -6

What has happened to OzB recently? Seriously.

    • +9

      "0 posts"

      Nice contribution yourself there friend.

      • -8

I’d rather post 0 deals than sully the site with a “deal” on building your own paper Xbox. Get real.

Good luck buying Modern Warfare for PC.

        • +2
        • -2

Nice rationalisation though, "i'd rather". No you just don't put any effort into this site besides being a teat sucking consumer, that real enough?

Thanks bro, i hope i get it soon. Fingers crossed.

          • +1

@Frayin: Didn’t realise I had to post a deal to critique a deal. Shame. The only teat sucking is you on the OP.

  • Thats a whole lot of ink for series x 🤯

  • +2

I am waiting for the PS5 printouts.

    • +1

Ha! Good luck getting one. You'll be waiting for late 2021 shipments at least.

  • +4

    Lol.

  • +4

Oh no … after all these RTX3080s … another paper launch.

  • +2

    not a deal.

  • +4

    Much cheaper than Nintendo Labo

  • This is hilarious

  • +1

    No

  • HOW IS THIS A DEAL?

  • +1

A cut out is a deal?

    Can't read dimensions?

  • +1

Thanks got 10 to resell on ebay

  • +2

Ozbargain is not for marketing gimmicks. A print-at-home template? Seriously?

    • +1

It’s a free activity many people will enjoy or find useful. There have been many similar deals that were well received in the past.

      • Sure, if you find it useful then that's cool and you should absolutely go ahead and upvote. In this case I find this deal too much of a marketing ploy, as opposed to a free crafts project. Negs are a useful expression of controversy, as far as I'm concerned. We disagree, and that's totally okay.

    • omg this is serious people

imagine all the heart ache when u get an Xbox for Christmas, only to realise it doesn't match ur styling or is too big for it entertainment unit

omg it's worse terrible. Karen won't be happy!

  • +1

    Silly

  • +3

Considering all the RRP posts lately

This is hilarious and I love it.

  • Wouldn't it be easier just to use a tape measure? 🤨

  • +2

Covid Iso must be frying people's analytical skills!

    1. Make Xbox series x out of cardboard
    2. Put OG Xbox one inside it
    3. Profit
  • +3

whats up with all the 'sorry this is not a deal' comments on ozbargain over the last week. Almost seems like its some people's livelihood to analyse which posts are deals and which aren't.. lol (excluding mods/admins ofc)

    • might try to craft this bad boy tomorrow evening.

  • Wouldn't it be easier to print a papercraft version of your entertainment unit and see if the demo Series X units at Harvey Normal will fit inside it.

  • You have just spent $300+ on a 3D printer, and you think…. "Could be a good way in which to save money!"

    • +1

Why would you need a 3D printer? You can print this on any basic inkjet printer.
