When & What Is The "OzBargain" to Have a Ceiling Fan Installed?

I'm not great with DIY and I was wondering what's the way or "best" way to have ceiling fans installed ? Do I just go to lighting stalls like Beacon lighting and have them organise everything all the way to installation?

Are fan sales usually in summer ?

I find the best way to do everything like this (Fans / Hot Water Systems / Air Conditioning) is to buy the items and then get quotes for installation. Go with best quote.

That way you aren't paying margins on the purchased items.

Although you definitely need to do some research on the type of goods that you can use. Otherwise just keep the receipts and keep everything in the box.

    • "definitely need to do some research on the type of goods that you can use" - That's the part that I think I think I would struggle the most especially if its not suitable due to voltage etc..

      • Electrically, everything should be fine. Just make sure it's not 3-phase though I doubt you'd find one the right size.
If you try and cheap out and buy from Amazon US or something you might have issues, but domestic stock should be fine.
