I was wondering if anyone would have any tips for finding discounted genuine Apple Watch straps. Particular stores, online or times of the year. I’m hoping to pick up a discontinued one on clearance

No particular preference at the moment for a genuine strap. I’ve got the Nike one with the holes so I’m after something that can be used in a more formal setting
Milanese loop is classy imo. A little flashy, I guess it's practically a bracelet.

Apple control stock of proper genuine products through their supply chains fairly well so there aren't great differences in price around the place from one to another retailer - if they are 'heavily discounted', probably too good to be truly genuine really.Clearance of old models maybe someone can help you out….
I still just can't believe they think its actually a fair price to charge $789 for a Hermes leather watch strap - what!? Its like $3 of leather and a buckle, add a fair bit of style but seriously, its another $780+ for the brand to be stamped on it - it's got to be like several hundred percent markup! You can get the actual series 5 watch for less than the damn strap!I’ve gotten pretty lucky with getting a iPhone and watch one generation older than current on clearance pricing so was hoping to also get lucky with the strap
In addition to the above comment, you could probably go for 3rd party bands. Nomad is an example (displayed in USD) and another is Casetify. These bands are like a tier or 2 above fakes and, if not, on par with Apple-branded ones. The downside is that it has the same or sometimes higher price than the Apple ones. It is very unlikely that you will find genuine Apple bands at a discounted price; they will most certainly be fake. Like the above comment said, Apple controls its stock so tight that you wouldn't even find a genuine lighting cable at a discounted price.

Which one do you want? The fakes are quite good and are so cheap you could buy dozens of them if you wanted. I'm still using a $5 milanese loop clone i bought for my gen 1 Apple Watch and it looks fine. I sleep with it on so for years now it's been on my wrist for most of my life during that time. Every now and then I need to scrub all the dead skin out of it and that's really gross, you keep scrubbing and more and more black shit keeps coming out of it. But the band itself still looks new, the gold color hasn't even rubbed off. The clips are made of solid machined metal, the magnet is very strong. I also bought some clones of the leather bands, but I liked the milanese loop so much I never tried them.
I'm sure the genuine ones feel a bit nicer, the metal probably polished smoother. Might feel a bit better against your wrist.
