Before people complain this is not a deal, I like being reminded of special buys because I always forget to look.

    • -7

      Not a deal

      • Lol fair enough

      • Bit rich coming from a person who has 8 posts in 5 years.

    • +4

Lower your doorways 2 feet as a reminder.

      • Easier to tape you daughter/son/pet/teddy to the fridge.

  • +1

What are the jumpstart power banks like?

    • +3

Not great in my opinion. It has failed for me with medium/Large cars, but has been ok for small 4-cylinder car (Suzuki Swift)

      • +1

Same price as what the 2000 GOOLOO often goes on special for

        • +1

Another vote here for the Gooloo … saved me a couple of times… not sure about this aldi one…

      • GOOLOO has never let me down. I want to mark it as made in China and for people who discriminate against China. Please don’t buy it.

  • +1

Almost certain that these items won't be in stock, all stores around me have been running empty and staff put grocery items on the special isles instead.

    • I thought that's just in Vic because of the 5km restriction

    • Regional Vic doesn't seem to be getting most or any special buys either

  • -8

putting details of almost the entire catalogue in a post is not a deal. this is OzBargain, not lasoo.

    • +1

Wow. Do you neg every Coles and Woolworth deal that is posted on Monday?

      • -1

Would like to if it looks like a lasoo promotion

        • +2

It's not full catalogue… If that gives you some comfort.

      • +5

At least the coles and woolies ones are specials or reduced priced items.

Aldi is selling full price, home brand items at their marketed retail price.. And call them special buys.

It's like posting a deal from woolies or coles for home brand flour at full retail.

If it's a reduced special from aldi. Post the deal.

        • yes if they only sold homebrand flour once per year and it was cheaper than the big brand…

          • -1

@sickllama: The same stuff you can buy online or anywhere cheap, all year round. Without lining up, wasting your time and missing out.

It's generic items that are sold all year round by everyone else.

It's all made in the same factories.

            We should know better now.

            Hoodwinked.

            • +2

@stickymoo: Aldi has 60 days returns. How about your online shops?

              • @RSmith: You'll need it

                • @stickymoo: Cool. Now please start posting a bit more deals.

                  • @RSmith: Coles, woolies, aldi, bunnings, costco. Rinse and repeat.
                    Just regurgitate catalogue adverts?

                    • -1

@stickymoo: Yeah. No one is stopping you from doing the same. 8 posts in 5 years. LoL.

                • -1

@stickymoo: How old did you say you are?

            • @stickymoo: Sounds very much like you don't shop there. There are plenty of good-quality below market price goods in Aldi special buys. There's also overpriced stuff and miscellaneous junk, just like in many other shops. Anecdotally (based on my own observations) I'd say their special buys have been a huge marketing success in getting people into their stores.

              • @[Deactivated]: I don't shop anywhere that stock 99% ultra processed, non-nutritious, packaged foods just to make a profit.

                • -1

@stickymoo: Yeah yeah, you grow all your own food using only rainwater, sunlight and a bit of soil. Never been into a supermarket then? You'd be surprised at what else they sell. You presumably understand the concepts of free enterprise, employment, etc?

                  • @[Deactivated]: That is how food is grown..

                    • -1

@stickymoo: Some food, yes, but I'll bet my house against your tent it's not how you get yours. Huge gaps in your high school education it seems. Need a hand understanding how a free enterprise economy works?

                      • @[Deactivated]: Inflation, poor quality, inequality, excessive power.

                        All that good stuff..

                        • -1

@stickymoo: Simplistic and one-eyed views like that are rarely accurate. Begs the question why you visit and contribute to this site.

Time you learned about inflation methinks. But yes, every human system (and human) has flaws. If you think those you've mentioned define free enterprise then you've got even more learning to do than I thought.

        • +2

At least the coles and woolies ones are specials or reduced priced items.

I see you've fallen for their marketing strategy. We should know better now.

        • +1

@stickymoo Plenty of Aldi's standard priced equivalent products beat your Colesworth "specials" every day of the week. Someone's hoodwinked and it isn't Aldi shoppers. Time to wake up to reality.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: You sound like an ad

            • @stickymoo: Better than sounding like a fool.

              • +1

                @[Deactivated]: Then just stop.

                • @stickymoo: Lol. Easily the smartest thing you've said on this deal. As the old saying goes….

                  • +1

                    @[Deactivated]: What deal?

                    • -1

@stickymoo: You would know if you posted some.

                      • @RSmith: So posting a catelogue is a deal?

                        • @stickymoo: You casted your vote. Others have casted theirs. Why you keep on going about it?

If it wasn't, the mods would have removed the post.

                          • +4

@RSmith: I don't understand why people don't use the "Hide deal" button. If they don't want to see any ALDI deals, then hide all deals from store "ALDI". Simple. I do it all the time for stores that I'm not interested in so that it doesn't show up on my OzBargain page. Negging is unnecessary

i always forget about these but see ppl queuing up in the morning when i drive past. by the time i go in theres no stock

    • The trick is to line up early… usually around 7:45-8:00, if you really want an item

      • For the egg chair and outdoor apparently some lined up at 7am

  • i gotta admit, i really hate the scooter craze.

    • The escooters are great. We live in Brisbane, 7km from the CBD and we can be in the city in 30 minutes on dedicated bikeways. Better than the bus and cheaper than parking in the city!

      • +3

        on dedicated bikeways

this is one of the reasons why i hate them :)

        • You should be pleased that a wider audience are travelling on them. It means they are more likely to be built and maintained if average punters actually use them instead of a tiny elite.

          • @coxymla: yes i know that argument. if the 'bikeways' and so called 'shared' paths are utilised there will be more funding for more infrastructure. funny thing is that it just doesn't really happen, or takes decades if it happens at all, and when it does happen the infrastructure is poor and usually an afterthought with poor and unsafe implementation.

so a few punk kids on scooters using them as a getaway for their graffiti sprees and eshay gangs doesn't really make much difference.

i'll leave it at that because there's a lot to expand on but basically they're floating pedestrians that are usually just as unpredictable and dangerous.

  • Anyone have any experience or feedback on the OBDII reader?

I was looking at this site (https://www.carscanner.info/choosing-obdii-adapter/) and they recommend the Viecar Bluetooth 4 that seems like it's only $30 or so.

    • +1

The Aldi one looks like just a reader/scanner.

      I personally have:

      https://www.auscanners.com.au/autohil-ax2-obd2-bluetooth-sca…

Works well with Torque Pro app ($4.95) on Android. Can scan/clear codes and display live diagnostics on digital guards like boost/temp/rpm/AFM/etc.

Heard/seen bad reviews from cheap eBay ones.

  • Very good price for the car boot liner $14.99, over $50 at auto stores.

    • +2

Good price but Ebay has better, fitted ones with raised edges for ~$30 for some vehicles.

      • Any recommendation?

  • Any feedback on the trampoline? Hard to find any reviews on this item. Trampolines seem to be in the $300+ range from popular brands so looks like a decent deal.
