Adguard - 30% off Lifetime Licences or via StackSocial (Family Lifetime Licence - 9 Devices $18US)

90
HOTDEAL

It's my first post please be gentle. noticed that adguard has 30% off on all products until end of September, just use HOTDEAL coupon and purchase straight from their website. I used the code to update my old personal lifetime plan (had only 2 devices on my plan) to family plan paid $84 in total.

New purchases for lifetime licenses with coupon from AdGuard directly
Adguard Personal AU$62.99+VAT (3 devices)
Adguard Family AU$139.93 +VAT (9 devices)

So after posting this - fellow ozbargainer said that you can get even cheaper from here
https://stacksocial.com/sales/adguard-family-plan-lifetime-s… using VIPSALE40 voucher on checkout.
Later just create adguard account and add the licence to your account as otherwise you cant activate pro version on your IOS devices.
Tried myself and purchased lifetime family plan for $18 USD

I have been using adguard for many years and so far i would say its the best ad blocker for android ( you can use for windows, mac etc too, but computer browser has lots of free options available therefore using adguard only on my phones)

@varvaz: I got mine off Stacksocial couple days ago. Lifetime account for $14 USD

            • @Menzoberranzan: ok, that's too cheap :) I will contact adguard support to see can I get a refund and buy from stack social…

              • @varvaz: support said they will reverse my order. so I now used the above stacksocial link with VIPSALE40 and ordered lifetime family plan for $18USD

                • @varvaz: Glad that worked out for you. Do you want to edit your post and add in my link in case someone go straight to it? This is much cheaper

How's the speed running this on your phone? I've found Blokada would slow down the internet speed dramatically.

  • i cant notice any slow down, maybe because its localvpn adblocker? try with free one first, except free won't stop app ads

    • Try changing your dns. Ccc, opendns, maybe even cloudflare.

  • Offtopic: Speaking of Adblockers, I've just built a homeserver, what do you guys use, PiHole or AdGuard Home?
Also, I'm running unraid. Is it preferrable to have the adblocker on a separate device like a RPi 3B (that I have lying around) rather than on a docker container?

    Thanks!

    • using PiHole and found it bit annoying as it blocks some random sites or least couldn't find nice list that blocks ADs only. Pretty much adding whitelist every now and then.

I set up a pihole instance for a year with extra sources lists and overall was blocking 1M+ domains. However what I found as well was that since most lists are provided by community maintainers, there was always somethings that wont work. So came to a conclusion, you need regular whitelisting/blacklisting maintenance. For a small number of users who can provide feedback properly if something went wrong, it was a bit manageable.

Haven't used PiHole to compare, but have been running AdGuard Home for probably 6-8 months without issue. Easy setup, updated regularly. When I looked into it, people seemed to suggest AdGuard was easier to get working well, but perhaps PiHole was more configurable.

If you check out AdGuard Home on GitHub it has a comparison chart too which might help.

  • Is there a way to make Adgaurd work if you want to use Chrome on iOS? Or does it just work with Safari?

    • yes, works well.
PS - I use Edge most of the time and for some sites Chrome..

  • Stopped using it because it conflicted with my VPN (Surfshark) due to iOS's strange implementation of it. Am personally satisfied with the inbuilt 'CleanWeb' feature of Surfshark, blocking ads on their side. If I see ads on OzBargain, I know my VPN is disconnected.

  • I activated a trial to try it out. Now I can’t make the lifetime purchase as it says I am already premium? I’ve already disabled the trial but it’s still active until the end. Anyone know a workaround? I’m on iOS

    • Do it on a computer or from the browser, you can then create a AdGuard account and add the license key. Then log into the adguard account on the app.

  • Good product. I have been using both the Windows and Android client for several years.
They now support third party Secure DNS services which is good. For example I have configured my desktop and notebook to use use the Adguard client for adblocking and NextDNS as my DNS resolver. Works well.
