Looking for one for all these zoom and Ms Teams calls. That mesh fabric is good to hear, although I would wonder if it gets to warm around the ears?

EDIT - great reviews on Amazon

    • This would be great for conference calls.
Maybe your ears will get warm if you wear it for a long time.

I use these for work and gaming / 4+ hours at a time and never had an issue with them.

My biggest gripe is that the battery life isn't that long and I'm finding myself always needing to put it on charge. And there's no warning for battery level, only an LED indicator which I keep forgetting to look at and you can't see when wearing the headset.

Was a PITA to set up too.

That said, once I got used to using them, they've been great for both work and gaming, sound and mic are great as long as you're not an audiophile.

I paid $199 from scorptec so $128 is a great price.

Had mine for over a year now and the battery did start to lose its life. Battery Easily replaced with one of these tho, much longer life :https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07K1J433J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This headsets been pretty good to me, still in great nick.

        • If you haven't, installing the Corsair iCUE software allows you to turn off the RGB which has a noticeable impact on battery life. Also allows you to check the charge level directly in settings and control the sidetone slider.

The downside is the software is cumbersome, and can have a negative impact on battery life in laptops with a discrete GPU due to the system monitoring services it installs. The software needs to be running to have any effect but you can disable the system monitoring services to resolve the battery life issue.

The other thing about these headphones is that they're a fairly big fit, if you have a smaller head you might find them uncomfortably loose. Otherwise they're great, I would've kept the set I had if the fit was better.

    • This headset won't be Teams certified so you may not get stereo output only AG…… Since the latest update I've noticed a heap of my headsets are no longer stereo compatible and I've had to go out and get a Jabra Evolve 75.

    • Yea depends on how warm it is too, but they do well compared to other headsets i used.

    • Yah, I've been looking for a pair for video conferencing for work too and I think I've landed on the Plantronic Focus as the one I want to get due to the good reviews and the fact it's form factor is smaller so I won't look too much like a gamer on video calls.

Just waiting for the plantronics price to drop a little as it's still pricey at ~$270 range

  • I can only vouch for the Corsair Gaming H2100 headset (superseded by the VOID line), but it had a decent battery life, was very comfortable, great mic and the padding didn't get flaky. I only replaced it because after years of use one of the plastic joins finally started to split which threatened the structural integrity. A bit of electrical tape solved the issue but marked the beginning of the end.

I keep it around as a backup.

  • Is the Virtuoso a big step up from this?

    • Not exactly no, and certainly not in comfort. Microphone quality would be better, but at the price difference just buy a desk mic and get way better quality.

At this price for the Void Wireless, I'd wait for Prime Day sales in a couple of weeks and see what deals there are on the Arctis 7 and the Hyper X Cloud Flight. Both offer somewhat better sound and comfort.

If you can wait longer than that, I'd look into Bluetooth 5.2 headphones that support low latency modes (this is part of BT 5.2's feature set) and get a desk mic.

  • I have a really old pair of Astro A40's. The wireless ones before A50's were released.
Are these going to be much of an upgrade? Anyone have experience with both of these headsets?

I've had two pairs of these. I bought one for work, and one for home. (Oh, the good old days when they weren't one and the same).

When I bought them the Logitech G930 was current, and felt like a vice on my head. I had the opposite problem with this.

    Sound quality: great
They'd infrequently lose pairing with the dongle, which was an effort to get going again.

Main problem I had, and why I ended up replacing them with a set of G933's (which are much less vice-like that the G930's) is that they kept falling off if I moved my head the wrong way.

Suddenly jerk my head back because of an in-game shock? They're now around my neck.

I gave one pair to my son who apparently doesn't have the same problem, so maybe I just have a weird head.

(For work, I went to a set of Jabra 75t Elite earbuds)

  • Can these be used wirelessly with Xbox ?

  • I've had one of these but the wired version. There have been issues that the mic volume is relatively low and others have to download a 3rd party software to boost the mic volume even though they maxed it out on iCue unless you use it through Discord which somehow improves the mic volume. I'm experiencing it myself at the moment and having thoughts on swaping them with the arctis 5 steelseries. They are really comfortable and with the mesh earmuffs they don't get warm easily and you won't have to worry on your ears sweating. They look really cool aesthetic-wise as well.
