Samsung 8.5kg QuickDrive Front Load Washing Machine WW85M74FNOO

Hi guys. I am looking at purchasing a dark-silver Samsung 8.5kg QuickDrive Front Load Washing Machine WW85M74FNOO, but there doesn't seem to be many places selling them.

There are a few selling the white version but the wife is insisting on the dark-silver one (or whatever colour it is). I've suggested getting the superb Bosch WAW28620AU but as we have a dark-silver dryer, she wants a machine to match!

Harvey Norman charges $1499, plus $55 delivery, so it's not cheap, even when compared to the Bosch.

So, apart from 'what's the cheapest way of buying the Samsung WW85M74FNOO?' the other questions are:

  1. Is the Bosch so much better, for similar money, that the different colour laundry devices doesn't matter?

  2. Does LG (or anyone else) make a similarly-coloured machine that's as good as the Samsung?

    I have one of these. I love it. Washes well and the spin dry is amazing. It’s quiet and has a short cycle which I use mostly. I have only had it for <6months, but so far so good. I purchased from good guys. $75 for delivery included install and they took away my old broken down front loader. Delivered on a Sunday as well. Paid about $100 less then you have been quoted.

      I’ve not been to the store yet but I doubt they’ll move on the price…….although I am after a Dyson V11 too, so there may be some opportunity.

    Don't forget Samsung EPP has whitegood appliances too. I checked that they only have the version you're looking in white for $1,199. The only grey one in the portal is WW85K6410QX which is only AddWash vs your QuickDrive

    There is this one but I’m not sure if I trust them. It doesn’t say it’s a factory second or reconditioned though. Bloody cheap.

    We’ve been using the Bosch WAY32891AU for a while now, and have had no issues.

    Clothes come out clean and undamaged.

      I think it’s coming down to that one and the WAW28640AU. Both have great reviews, even though the guy at Harvey Norman said the AEG 9000 is the best machine money can buy.

      I’m guessing he’s on a better commission with AEG?

        I wouldn’t believe a word they say. Your hunch -re commission is most likely correct.

        Their more expensive unit are German made, vs Chinese or another country (Can’t recall where their cheaper units are made).

        We also own the series 8 dishwasher also of excellent quality, and performance so didn’t have a issue paying the extra.
