    Alternatively spend the whole $130 on one very decent chefs knife

    I've had my global knifes for 15 years now. They were good quality back then and I assume still are.

    The bread knife in the set that I have is rubbish. It's like a left handed bread knife. The flat side is on the right side of the knife, so you have to hold the knife with your left and the bread with your right to get a straight slice. Guess it would be ok if you were left handed which I'm not, unfortunately.

    Get yourself a more decent bread knife such as a Mac Superior, the equivalent tojiro, or i hear the one from Mercer is quite good too.
