        I think his point is that single layer masks have tested to be only 50% as effective at blocking virus particles as multi layered masks. In Victoria this matters a bit more as we have a bit more responsibility in dealing with the virus.

        But everything has a use case and this is definitely a bargain in my opinion.

        Clearly people have no idea. Might was well wear a mask made from fishnets as these cheap polyester single later masks are just as effective.

      Might be because this is OzB. The per unit rate on the 6 for $10 is strangely lower than the per unit rate on the 10 for $17.

    I'm interested in buying the masks but have some questions:

    What material are these made from and how many layers does it have? From the photo it looks like only 1 layer. Also what does it mean you can only wash it 3 times? After 3 washes, are you supposed to throw them out? Do they become non-effective after you wash a mask 3 times? And is it one size fits all faces?

    Absolutely no purpose other than avoiding a fine (Melbourne).

    Do not expect these to actually protect you from anything remotely related to a virus.

      That is the only reason anyone is wearing one, to avoid the fine. If masks weren't mandatory I think usage would significantly drop off.
