Monitor for WFH Setup - typical office work.

Hey there, please help me find a monitor for use for my WFH setup.

Monitor must be 27”+.
Mainly for use with email, office apps, browsing. Not gaming.
Good bargain desired, but plan to use it for number of years so would love suggestions on resolution, screen size, etc to target.

If you're not gaming, refresh rate shouldn't really matter. 60Hz is fine.
At 27" size, I definitely wouldn't get a 1080p monitor, it's too coarse and you can really see the pixels.

As for 1440p vs. 4K, I think it depends on the person. 1440p looks kind of bad to me so I prefer 4K, but I have friends who are perfectly happy with their 27" 1440p monitors. I guess it depends on your eyesight.

    • Thanks - that’s very useful to get a sense of the resolution. Are there any issues with the 4K resulting in a font size that’s too small?

        Depends on the OS…
Display scaling on macOS is pretty much flawless.
Recent versions of Windows 10 are pretty good - most applications will scale nicely with correctly sized, crisp text, and the few applications that don't support scaling will look fuzzy but be usable. You might have trouble if you have a work laptop on some ancient version of Win10 though (older than 1803).
Linux is a mixed bag depending on what distro you're using.

Also make sure not to buy a TN panel. They're not so common any more but they look horrible. IPS/VA is a must have
