    I'm with Origin at 21c now, contract expires in Dec so already shopping around.
    AGL are offering 17c online, but you can get up to 21c over the phone from what I've heard.

      Yeah same, tried Origin on phone nope 12c is it. I have read if you sign up to AGL on their website Origin will ring you with a 22c offer.

    Origin offered me 20c fit or 15c fit with 23% discount on supply. I took the 15c which works out better on cloudy/rainy days or if you use more supply than solar for the day. After 1 month I’m up $138 whereas it would have cost me approximately $300 in supply. Of course it helps to have 3 phase and 15kw inverter.

  With the single phase inverter, can it be used on a 3 phase property and export >5kw, or is it limited to max export of 5kw regardless of the property setup?

      Hi,
      If you want to export more than 5kw, do you need a 3 phase meter?
      I don't have solar but I have a single phase meter, is it doable to change it to a 3 phase meter? Is that something you guys can do?

  Do you have any offers for anything in-between 6.6kw and the 13.3kw here?

  I think that would be the sweet spot in terms of maximising the 5kw export and then having an additional 2-3kw free to run pool pump, washing machine etc.

    But, if you have enough roof space to install 13.3kw, it's a no brainer to go with 13.3kw even though you are capped at 5kw ( for single phase meter type)

      Isn't the sweet spot going to be maintain the 5kw to feed into the grid then allow a 2-3 kws above it for normal household appliance use? So if my house faces north, its going to need less panels than a house facing east and west, in which case going for a bigger system on a North facing house may not represent good value, versus an in-between size, as there is no payback on the additional KWs of a bigger system if you have already maxed out your grid feed and produce more than you use. It then becomes lost energy.

        Extra capacity can be used to charge an AC coupled battery.

        The Goodwe Inverter used is only ~$500 more than the 5kW version. The panels are not much more than the STC’s they generate. Most of the extra cost is the extra installation.

          @Steptoe: Fair point actually. Kind of creating a battery ready system in expectation of future cheaper Lithium batteries (either by a lowering of production costs or future grants)

    Subsidies and STCs. Queensland gets higher value of total STCs because they generate more due to amount of solar radiation.

    If you think in Victoria a 6kw system is like $2500 after rebate and interest free loan then it works out to be about the same. You can't mess with the underlying cost (before subsidies and STCs) without putting dangerous parts and substandard work that will cost you (burning down your house).
