JB Hi-Fi 20% off Ticketed Prices on CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays - Saturday Only

310

Got handed this flyer in the store today. They've got 20% off ticketed items. Doesn't say too much, but might be worth checking out if anyone is out in the city tomorrow.

Hope this helps someone out.

Cheers!

Mod — Initial post was for Strand Arcade Sydney only, but appears to be for all JB Hi-Fi stores.

It says only CD's DVD's and Blurays, so please update your title… it is misleading

Chances are you can probably get most of these more than 20% off online, so where is the bargain ???

    • +3

      Fixed.

    • If they include the two for $20 & two for $30 blu rays there may be some good deals in them.

    • There is also the 3 for $20 CD's which would definitely fall into the bargain category with an extra 20% off.

  • Looks like this is a good deal. 20% off 2 for $20 and 2 for $30 blu-rays comes to $16 and $24.

Also brings the Apocalypse Now deal down to $20
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/56872

    • There is also a Batman blu ray boxset for $25 currently, which would drop to $20, or $5 a movie.

      • Was about $13 from Amazon UK not long ago.

    It's all JB's Aus wide.

    • Did u call and ask? Was it in a newsletter? Just wondering

    • +1

Where did you hear that from? It would be great if it's all JB's. Saves me from trekking all the way into the city.

EDIT Called their Hornsby store and they said they would be having a 20% off sale as well.

"Available Online" Beats the crowds when they offer free shipping!

    • +4

I wouldn't… My last two orders of 'in stock, usually dispatched next day' items - a week later, still not sent (one order i cancelled, recent one i'll give another few days but there's really no way of knowing what hold up is or how long it'll be).

I'm with you on principle - also not particularly keen on dealing with the emo chicks scowling at you for interupting their private phone calls, by, you know, 'purchasing a product' - but online store is just too flakey.

I'm going to wade the crowds and tolerate the arogant checkout chicks. If nothing's there maybe come home and put in an order as back up plan..

      • +1

Totally agree on that, i had an order that had 2 items, both in stock, 14 days, still haven't received them, yet i got two parcels in less time from the UK.. JB are getting worse imo

  • Be careful the current online prices do not appear to include the 20% off yet. As per the heading the discount to online pricing starts on Saturday. Apocalypse Now 3 disc version is still listed as $24.98 without the 20% off.

    • Guess it's on now: http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/super-saturday-games-deals/

Was hoping to get Uncharted 3 cheaper than from the UK, but I guess ~$6 more isn't bad. Now I just have to decide if I buy it now or wait and buy it from the UK later…

    • Why $24.98 minus supposedly 20% discount is $22.48? I guess not all blu ray movies get 20% discount.

      • +1

$15.98 (the price yesterday) less 20% is $14.98 according to the site. Something in the water ain't clean. Does this only go live at 9am?

Take a look at this page:
        https://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/blu-ray-2-for-30.htm

Some prices have dropped, some haven't, and some have doubled. Also, the prices quoted in search results are definitely not translating to the cart. For example a blu-ray that yesterday was $19.98, today is quoted at $15.98 (correct), but in the cart it is $17.98. With this glitchy website it might definitely be easier to go instore.

      • If you get the Apocalypse now Ultimate edition instore check your docket, my disk was ticketed $24.98 and it scanned at the same, I got a bunch of other titles and at the botom there was a discount listed for the 20% off but now that I'm home and I've run a calculator on it they have applied the 20% off to all the titles except Apocalypse now :(

        • I got the discount of $5 off the Apocalypse three disc special edition. it appears as ultimate edition on the receipt.

$20 is a bargain for such a great collectors edition, got the last one from macquarie centre (which have moved up into where Borders was btw). I saw the 2 disk metal tin case edition for the same price, but its not as good as this.

        • Did you have force the 20%($5) off or did it just scan as that ? I'm rather annoyed about it because as it was I had to walk back into the store to get my docket corrected as they scanned one of my other titles twice thats why I didn't notice the error on Apocalypse now

        • I think they manually altered it to give the 20% off.

      • Damn Just realized I got the two disk edistion from Macquarie instead of the three disk collectors edition for the same price. I might call them up tomorrow and see if I can swap it over.

        • There was only one 3 disk that I saw, and I got it. There was a heap of 2 disks though. They probably have more out the back, the 3 disk takes up a fair amount of shelf space. You should definately swap it over, the 3 disk is a much better deal.

        • All sorted. and swapped over. Definately forgo the standard blue case with tin slip case 2 disc special edition for the 3 disc special edition at the same price.

  • Does this include music blu-ray? As every previous %off sales always excluded music blu-ray from the discount. And music blu-ray has always been expensive.

    • last time it was included for me..
Edit: Yep they are this time too.

  • Treme season 1 is at a good price too at $27. The cheapest I have seen it and significantly cheaper than amazon.

    • -1

my local jb had it stickered at $19.98, thats dvd not bluray.

      • Yes I was referring to the bluray

    • Awesome Show

  • Skyrim on xbox for only 63 bucks? Sweet.

  • This will probably be a regular sale like last year before christmas.

I would expect a couple more coming up soon.

  • So were games actually included? I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but people are saying they got Skyrim for $63?
