Sony A7III for $2358 (+ $400 gift card) a good deal?

Hey guys,

I had Sony price match the A7III from the last digidirect sale for $2358 and it is still in my cart. It also comes with an eftpos gift card of $400. So essentially getting the camera for $1958 by the time you spend the eftpos card on something else.

The $400 gift voucher deal only lasts until October 4th. Do you think it is worth pulling the trigger on this deal? I know there's rumors of the A74 coming but I'm sure that will be $3k+. The A7III is currently retailing for $2888 on Sony's website so even with a price drop if they release a new camera, it would need to drop $1000 to be better than this offer.

TLDR - Should I pull the trigger on an A7III for $2358 + a $400 gift card? Or would it be worth waiting for Prime day, Black Friday, Christmas deals etc. Cheers

    Good deal, it hasn't been much lower than that after EFTPOS card (which is as good as cash). At most you might save $50 but no idea how long the wait. I'd probably just get it.

    I think if your getting it for Sub 2K thats already a very good deal. That means your on the same price point as the entry level competitors Nikon Z5 and Canon RP, but the A7III is actually supposed to be in the Market of a Z6 and R6.

    The A7IV, i don't think will drive the prices down much further then what you will be paying. It's more likely to kick start the used market

      I'm looking at the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD as a starting all round lens. It's at CameraPro for $1,099. Anyone bought from there before or seen it better?

        Would have been $1030 with the recent promo code on the Digidirect eBay store. Never bought from CameraPro, I have from Ryda though and you can request a price match from them.

        A little more expensive but I got the Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS Lens as my allrounder. Love it, no regrets.

    I paid $2,200 for my A7iii back in July 2019 (CameraPro), it looks like the prices increased due to the exchange rate? I also bought my Tamron 28-75 from CameraPro in January 2020 for $1,098.

    I think it's a no brainer. The A7iii is such a good camera that with the A7iv I doubt we will see a jump like A7ii to A7iii.I don't think it will be released in 2020 anyway so why wait? How much lower will the price be at BF? You might end up saving $100-200 if you want to wait 2 more months.

    I've been tracking the price of the cam for a few weeks as I've also been trying to purchase an a7iii

    I ended up buying it from digidirect for that price.
    Although I got 5% off gift cards plus cashrewards 2: cashback to make it a lil cheaper

    Buy it imo.

    Doubt it'll Get much cheaper and it's an awesome camera
