Ok It's an old game repackage and physical copy with Nintendo & EA mark-up. Still best price at moment that I can find for a racing game other than than Mario type one's on this platform.

Game description:

I'd pay more for a port of Takedown.

    • I agree. The colour rendering is all wrong in this game, its too dark. No idea why they remastered it when Takedown is clearly far superior. I got this for $9 on XB1 at BigW. But paying silly prices for games is normal for Switch folks!

      • +3

This only released on Switch recently. The XB1 version came out about 2 years ago.

Nobody is going to release a new port of a game for $9 on any platform

  • Go for Grid Autosport instead, game developers seem to work decently on this switch port to put more value in it;

  • Great game, but $40 more than I paid for the PS4 Remastered version…

European families have the right to buy the games and consoles at the lowest price the market can possibly offer, and we will not tolerate collusive behavior intended to keep prices artificially high,'' Mario Monti, the European commissioner for competition, said today.

      Oh Mario!

    • The game is 2 years older on every other platform, will probably take time for the price to even get close.

Mate stop.. don't defend them. Games on other platforms hit $5 within a year.

It's time for another Nintendo lawsuit.

On-top of the other 3 they've already got going on.

        • +4

The media used for Switch cartridges is more expensive than a Blu ray.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. The game being capitalist consumerism.

          • -1

            @Ninternet: $44 cartridge? Next…

            • +2

@[Deactivated]: So you truly and honestly expect a new port to be launched at $10? On physical media? In a capitalist marketplace? Where there are very few other "realistic" racing games? Even less that have a physical release? Published by EA? That cost money to port over? When Switch games are selling well?

              • -1

@Ninternet: Well this is OZbargain not OZexploit.

If Nintendo wanted to be competitive it would have launched this in 2018 like every other platform did.

The game is now worth $19.

                • +1

@[Deactivated]: Nintendo didn't develop this game, therefore they don't decide when it launches lmao

                  • -1

@Ninternet: Nintendo dictates and controls pricing though.

I'm sure that same developer isn't charging $49 on Xbox One today.

I'm sure that same Developer is getting the same money from both platforms.

                    • @[Deactivated]: Publisher sets the prices too 🤗

                      • -2

@Ninternet: It's more coercion and forcing retailers to keep prices high by threatening to lower supply.

                        https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm…

You need to understand who Nintendo are, they're thieves who constantly break the law.

                        • @[Deactivated]: You've shared articles from 1991 and 2002. Anything from the current or last decade?

Nintendo set the prices for Nintendo published titles.

                          • -1

@Ninternet: Nintendo are currently a little busy in court over not refunding people in the EU on pre-orders and refunds to digital purchases.

Further lawsuits are taking place too regarding joycon drift and piracy matters.

                            Class action lawsuits against them.

After these have settled down they'll be sure to get back at Nintendo against price fixing and coercion.

                            • @[Deactivated]: I feel you're a little delusional about all of this. And your lack of acknowledgement about your mistakes is quite off-putting.

Those lawsuits are about genuine issues, yes. But they're entirely unrelated to pricing. And they'll definitely win any piracy cases considering they're the prosecutors in those circumstances against people illegally using their IPs.

You really should do your research regarding pricing of Switch games, though.

This site alone has developers of Switch games, relatives of other developers and people heavily invested in the collection of Switch games with "insider knowledge" on the pricing schematics and policies. All your arguments come across as emotional, disgruntled and, most of all, outdated if not entirely fabricated.

                              • @Ninternet: No mistakes here, Google it. Read the several articles yourself.

Everyone who has half a braid knows the tricks Nintendo does, this would only be new to millenials, as demonstrated, has been talking place since Nintendo 64.

@[Deactivated]: You're still confusing first party Nintendo products with third party ones 🤣

OP, try Asphalt 9. Free download and while it has in game currency to cut corners you can reach the highest levels for free if you enjoy racing
