Telco Pre-Paid Starter Kits Expiry Dates

I believe the other topics do not fit my question.

I have obtained from hotel information racks multiple “$2 prepaid mobile sim” starter kits, the ones next to the information leaflets on bridge climb.

With the Telstra / optus ones they have an expiry date for the SIM card, will they still work after the expiry date or should I just chuck them. What is the expiry date for the Vodafone ones?

    Have you tried one in a phone to find out?

    That's an easy way.
