Looking for a Home Office Printer

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a cheapish home printer. Would like it to be wifi enabled, have print and scan and have cost effective ink. We mainly print black and white shipping labels but will be printing colour on the odd occasion

Any help would be great. I started looking through officeworks and it was quite confusing with what was what!

Thanks in advance

  • I'd personally go with an HP MFD, I bought a Brother one last year and returned it within a week as the WiFi was unusable. The specific model will depend on your budget, I went with a 9020 but may be overkill depending on your needs. I wanted double sided scanning with an auto feeder tray, so that knocked out a lot of options.

  • +1

Go laser, not inkjet. Find one that there is after market refills for.

  • A Brother laser multifunction printer is the general recommendation around here.

  • Thanks for the feedback all. The world of printing sure is confusing!

  • I have a Brother DCP 1510 I bought for $95, in 2015. Best investment ever, never disappoints.

I will probably never buy an ink printer again in my life; it seems they all come with a 100% frustration lifetime warranty. From cheap to more expensive multifunction, different brands, every time I had to use them there was at least a 70% chance of frustration.

I'd recommend you buy the Brother laser W(wifi) equivalent version, and go to office works when you have to print colours. Bought new generic toners for the third or fourth time last week (two for $20).

I would like to have the one with wifi, but the printer is still working perfectly after 5 years, I can't justify replacing it.
