FREESHIP45

I've never tried the doughnuts, but people always rave about them.

I've used their service a couple of times to send doughnuts as b'day gifts, they've been really good with delivery.

Not sure if spending $45 to get free delivery is worth it, but here you go! Knock yourself out if your interested.

Products include donuts, cakes and pastries.

The donuts are AMAZING! Can definitely recommend.

    • Never seen glazed jam donuts before. They are lucky I don't live within their delivery zone, those jam donuts.

      • I do like their glazed jam doughnuts, but have found they could be fresher (when delivered).

        • +5

Which is silly when you consider they want at least two days warning for the order. Sounds like they are offloading old stock instead of using the lead time to prepare fresh ones.

          • +6

@AustriaBargain: Or they need to sufficient time to plan their daily production and routing so that the doughnuts are optimally fresh.

You know, given they're a boutique, premium doughnut shop and not 7/11.

            • +1

@kale chips suck: Did you read this thread?

              • @PoxyRadical: Some of it. I have a mate who defected from Krispy Kreme to these guys because they're so good. I assume he knows what he's on about.

But when replying to the, what, third post in the thread, off the first comment, nope, I had not read the thread.

Let me guess, they're shit and inedible?

  • +4

    Yup! Tasty!!!

  • The doughnuts here are fantastic!

  • +4

    i like their nutella milkshake.
something about them is different compared to other milkshake joints.

and yeah the doughnuts are great!

    • Burgies's nutella shake is also decent

  • +1

Dammit should not have clicked… very tempting

  • +23

People spend $45 at a donut shop in one go?

    • You'd be surprised lol

    • $45 is lotsa doughnuts…

      • +2

Not at Daniel's Donuts…they're expensive af

    • +1

Note the two day lead time.

    • +8

Most people in Melbourne are already looking like a donut due to the lockdown, even before downing 18 fat free donuts

      • Apprantly there is some research showing people that eat 18 doughnuts a day is much less likely to die of covid.

    • +1

      Hell yeah !
Lego and junk food there is no limits in the budget :)
      Ordered .

    • What's more surprising is 3000+ people clicked on the deal

  • +8

Who TF is going to eat 18 donuts? It's not like parties are happening in Melbourne either

    • +36

Parties? Why do you need a party to eat 18 donuts?

      • +2

It’s two days worth, if you don’t snack on them during the day and eat just three per meal.

    • +18

They'll come in handy if it's Chief Wiggum who checks up on your party.

      • +1

Only one chief in Vic, then again they are probably more akin to Milhouse in reality

    • Sadly idiots still doing the wrong thing. I herd from someone at the dog park that a party of around 70 ppl on the weekend happened in my area. We seriously need to start taking safety labels off things. The idiot/smart ratio in becoming unsustainable.

      • What’s your area?

        • +4

          Party Town

        • North East Suburbs, roughy 35min from the CBD.. don't really want to dox myself but that should be enough info for a ball park.

          • -1

            @vash5: Ok Broadmeadows lol

            • @Jumpup: Lol.. ahhh maybe double check your compass

      • Chill bro…

    • You underestimate my power

  • +24

With the presence of the plural 'donut(s)' in the name I sure hope they are not selling them singly.

    • +1

      some ozbargain meta here

    • +1

I was thinking the same thing.

  • I just tried last weekend. Very yummy and special

  • +6

    iPantry also sells Daniels Donuts.
Spend $50 and get free delivery in melbourne metro areas.
They sell other stuff, groceries, frozen, pantry stuff etc. So no need to spend so much on the donuts alone.

Never shopped with them, so can't vouch for their service.

  • +2

Finally gave in and ordered 3 boxes, thanks

    • +1

Sounds like a nice wed night.

    • +1

They include a free six pack of toilet paper when you buy four boxes.

  • +1

    Donuts…. MMMmmMmmMm. (ala Homer)

    Daniel donuts… MMMMMMMMMM !!!!

    • -2

Thank you for accepting my friendship request you are a pretty young lady blessed with a nice body you sure got it going

  • +21

' people always rave about them.'

Same people who are impressed by 5 patty burgers and a 1kg chips. Usually teenagers.

Tried a sample pack of 6 different donuts. Each one was nothing special.

    • +6

These are so popular I thought I'd give them a go. They're nice, not too sweet which is a plus, but really nothing special. I still don't get what the fuss is about.

      • -2

What was the delivery driver and their vehicle like, just a normal car or a commercial delivery truck? Were there any flyers included with the food?

        • +10

The delivery driver was handsome. He had a short beard and was wearing an Adidas baseball cap. He had a friendly disposition and a big smile. A very nice young man, it was a pleasure to have him my driveway. He was slender and rather on the short side; I would estimate his height to be 5'5". I didn't enquire as to his nationality but from his accent and appearance I would suspect his origin to be somewhere in the Middle East. And yes the donuts came with three flyers, which were a Boeing 747, a mallard, and Superman himself.

    • +1

      Usually teenagers.

So you're old and wise then?

      • Not old nor wise.

However old enough to know what good food is.

    • Exactly
Even during lockdown people were queuing up with no social distancing,

    • +1

Thank you for posting this, I always see people going mad in the comments whenever DD's is posted and I could never understand why for years.

The non-filled donuts especially are dry and doughy, I'd take a Krispy Kreme over one of those any day. The filled donuts are good but some can be overly creamy, and not in a good way. Have they gotten better in recent years or something?

I wouldn't say no if offered one, but I also wouldn't queue up for half an hour in the rain (and I guess post on social media about it) just to have one either.

  • +3

Got nothing on vic market van jam donuts

    • +4

two different donuts. Vic Market Van Jam Donuts should be compared to Footscray Olympic donuts. Daniel Donuts should be compared to stores that are similar like, 'ThatsAlotofDonuts'.

    • +1

You should try Preston market donuts.

  • +1

Whoa! Those donut pics look more deadlier than ol' covid itself. Brrr….

  • +3

i recommend the NZ cream donuts :)

    • The best ones are definitely the NZ cream and jam ones. I usually just get a box of those. Don't care so much for the other flavours.

  • They have a very delicious Vegan range. The strawberries and cream one was amazing!

  • Glad I don't live in Victoria… Covid, no probs… But those donuts I would mow through.

  • If it's not 2 for $22 then it's no deal!

  • +4

Had some from the Cranbourne store via uber eats - they were extremely stale. They musn't be creating batches as frequently and holding onto stock for days.

    • What kind did you get? I find their filled donuts tend to be not as fresh as their open donuts (need to be refrigerated) if that makes sense. Definitely leave them some feedback though :)

      • Yeah was the refrigerated kind. If I ever try them again I'd just get em' in person and hopefully get them fresh

        • When they're fresh they are really good. I do sympathise with you on the stale donuts! Takes the enjoyment factor right out of them. Hopefully the next batch is better.

  • +7

I feel Daniels are overrated. Prefer to drive the extra 10 minutes to go to TODCO in Oakleigh.

    • They are 6 for $24 there aren't they?
      Difference in price also.

      • Must be overpriced then. Homer don’t agree.

      • 5 KM .. FREE DELIV

  • +2

These donuts look pretty but are the driest (the bread part) and are excessivly sweet. Overrated!

  • +4

I went there with a friend in February just before the lock down and found them terribly overpriced and overrated I've had much better doughnuts but there was a massive line.I dont get the hype.

Rather order a couple of boxes of Krispy Kremes even they tasted a day old when arrived.

Daniel doughnuts website says baked between the 5th and the 11th, i don't want Doughnuts 3 days old or more delivered.

    • +1

Online reviews 4.5/4.6 from around 1K people is good enough for me to place a virgin order .

    • Totally with you on the hype. I've gotten these before for my team.
They're nice but I cannot get my head around the hype & why anyone would wait in line for them.
Pity that Doughnut Time went all bust (nearly) - they were some awesome doughnuts.

Anyway, was going to order these for my team again (yes, they're essential & operating within the rules), but the 7AM-630PM delivery window is so stupid…
Like really? Do you really think that you're that good?

      • Doughnut Time is heavily overpriced for what it is.
It verges on almost triple the cost ($40 - $45 for a box of 6) of Daniel's.

I've tried both and Daniel's comes out on top for me.
The odd's of getting a stale donut from DT is higher than Daniels due to people are more likely to pay $2.50 for a non-basic donut rather than $7 so there will be less turnaround.

  • -5

    awesome donuts…very tasty

lucky for us we still have daniel's donuts while the other daniel is locking everyone up

    • Yes thanks to interstate travellers from Sydney who couldn't keep it in their pants.

  • +1

lines at the springvale store were horrible pre-covid, you'd go at 8pm on a friday and have to wait 30 mins cause of the hype.

  • +1

Very overrated. One of those instagramable places where the food is pretty but lacks substance.

  • gotta pay me to eat these donuts

  • They are good but being solo in Melbourne I don't need $45 worth lol

  • +1

I thought donuts had a hole in the middle. Now I'm feeling old.

  • Donut pass on this deal, they are scrumptious! The joy from those spheres of glucose is not a bargain, but it is a gain.

  • +2

I thought Daniel's Donuts might be every public official who has denied appointing private security in the $30++ mill botched quarantine.

  • I feel that these donuts are like cheesecake from the Cheesecake Shop. Clumsy, OK for a quick sugar fix at a cheap price.

  • Minimum $45 spend is a yikes

  • +4

Code saying it doesn't exist. Expired?

  • Coupon no longer works!
