I'm Getting Fake Leads from Bark

Hi!

I own a local service business, I am getting emails from a site called Bark daily, that apparently a person near me has requested a quote. I know these are fake leads as they are always the same just different names. I guess they want me to sign up to there lead generation site.

Is this legal to send fake leads?

Thanks!

  • Can you just not using the site or ignore it?

  • No it’s not legal to generate false leads. It’s misleading and deceptive conduct to do so. The ACCC has taken action recently against companies for false testimonials.

    • Yeah I don't thinks it fair for businesses who believe they are real leads and sign up to the website!

  • Oneflare used to do that to me, too. Funnily, they originally texted the person's full name, and location, in the blurb sent to me so I'd try looking them up on Whitepages.
8/10 times, I'd find them and get the work—-> NOT signing up for Oneflare- lol.

Eventually, they wised-up and stopped sending them to me. ;)

However, Oneflare still has my business listed with "high" reviews. Whose reviews they are, I have no idea.

ACCC should stop these fakes, 100%.
