Looking for a Floor Mat for WFH

I am about to get an office chair at home, and a colleague warned me about it leaving marks in the carpet.I have looked online but they seem quite pricey from what I can see - can anyone recommend floor mats to go under my office chair?

Also any other WFH equipment that isn't obvious, tips are welcome

this OP, laminates are much better . I am using plastic mats on a carpet floor and its bloody moves everytime I move

The ones for use specifically on carpet have spikes on the reverse side to stop them moving.

They come in 3 versions, low pile, medium pile and high pile, the higher your pile, possibly the larger the spikes you'll need.

Im renting so didnt want to use the spiky ones . yeah spiky ones are good.

          • @life is suffering: The spikes don't seem to leave permanent marks. I used them in a rental a few years ago, but they didn't help much tbh, I still found there was a fair bit of movement.

    • Excellent, thanks for that advice, exactly what I was after. Will look into that. Looks quite cool in that photo too, I like it!

Learn to use google as $30 to $70 is not pricey.

      What's wrong with asking here?

    • This is good for wooden floorboards, but may not be so good on carpet.
On the Ikea web site complaints of cracking - which I suspect is due to being used on a high ply carpet.

For carpet the Officeworks $39 Keiji one works ok. It's got small 'dots' or 'spikes' on the carpet side so it will stay in place.

      • Guess it all depends on the type of carpet you have. I have one of these and it does a good enough job, but then again I don't use a chair on wheels.

Make sure you get the mat for your floor type as they are different.

I bought mine from a deal similar to this one:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/499266

had it 4 years and it's excellent still.

Costco and Officeworks had the most reasonably priced ones that were a big enough size when I looked.

  • Back when I looked Officeworks was sold out, so I just got some thick vinyl from a roll at Bunnings…

  • Matshop.com.au. They occasionally pop up on here

    • not large enough.
