I guess it was better off when the puppet monarch/Shah was in charge? Someone brought off by the Americans and corruption was the course of the day. There is a reason why him and his ilk were overthrown by the majority.

Shame but you could say the same for many countries which have leaned either too socialist or become patriotic. I'd say you could say the exact same for America at this time and their current regime and their lurch and courting of the extreme right.

(Note the subtle difference that media portrays into you not liking someone by using regime vs government or party).

In saying that… I share you like of Herge and his authorship.

I merely expressed nostalgia about vintage Persian prints of Tintin Adventures because after the Marxist-Islamist revolution of 1979, Ministry of Islamic Guidance removed all Captain Haddock's booze references in their censored/redacted reprints and botched his persona altogether! Such intolerance toward personal preferences and social norms of where a bunch of fictional characters hailed from.

This is not a platform for sociopolitical debates and average Aussies simply do not wish to be pestered by accounts about two oceans yonder. Nevertheless, thanks for revealing to us that regime apologists named after a terrorist gang leader lurked even on OzBargain to whitewash 4 decades long human rights violations of the veritable ISIS predecessor who began their career by turning 420 people into cinder in Cinema Rex, Abadan in 1979. Congratulations on taking sides with a criminal cult that indiscriminately massacred 1,500 protestors and passers-by alike - including 23 children - just last November!

P.S. When forming arguments, you’d better abandon the deflated whataboutism fallacy. In other words, regardless of whatever the USA, Shah, Zionists, PLO, IRA, blah… blah… did or do, let’s focus on a very tangible and ever-present horror called Islamic Republic which has taken 85 million Iranians hostage at gunpoint.

  • I've been trying to find the English version of a related Herge's title: The Secret Ray, Parts One and Two: The 'Manitoba' No Reply; The Eruption of Karamako (The Adventures of Jo, Zette and Jocko). Apparently, it's super rare in English and I could only find a second-hand copy priced at $2913! Maybe I need to learn French…
