Along with a post dated cheque for $1 million that they can cash next century.

Not sure, but maybe call and see if they can book you in for an ‘experience’ eg restaurant, theatre, massage, snorkeling trip, or something similar depending where you live.

    • $500 massage sounds awesome. Imagine being pampered for 4 hours straight

Find groups that trade/buy and sell gift cards. It's worth nothing to you, but someone who does want to travel with the limited options might take it off your hands for most of the value. Or just contact flight centre and ask it to be extended for a few years.

  • You can usually book a flight around 331 days in advance so depending on when your voucher expires, you could potentially book for 2022 (if you wanted to travel then).

Or you could spend it on a hotel within driving distance if you just wanted a weekend getaway.

  • Book a ticket that is refundable/dates can be changed far in the future. Then you can always refund it later on for credit to use else where.

    • Do they make them you go through them, rather than airline directly, for any changes though? That's what happens if you book a flight through them using other payment methods so I guess it's the same with gift cards.

      • They do. I have a $2000ish credit with jetstar for a flight booked through FC. I can only rebook using FC
