Need a Room in Sydney

Hello everyone,

I have a family guest coming to visit, and i cant host due to size of my studio,
any suggestion where to look for a room?

area: cbd, surry hills, ultimo, hey market, darlinghurst(or similar distance from cbd)
period: all january2012

other then gumtree i have no idea where to look for.

I guess it depends on what kind of budget you're looking at. There are heaps of hostels in Kings Cross (they're the cheapest in Sydney from what I have heard from backpackers). But if you're not looking for cheap, then I have heard about this site from a friend (who has personally used it overseas): http://www.airbnb.com/. Basically people rent out their spare rooms to you - and I have been told it's not too expensive either (similar or cheaper than a hotel room usually). You can't book overnight though - you need a few days notice or something.

cheers guys i'm goin to check the links,

well a spare room will be the perfect solution,
a budget up to 350per week is ok,
so probably i cant go for a service appartment.
