Wireless Keyboard - Is It a Good Choice?

I'm a little conflicted about the new wireless ones from Logi and Razer….on 1 hand, great to have a clean desk, on another, charging batteries is a pain. Thoughts?

They generally last a long time before replacing. Just depends on whether that clean desktop look is worth it.

  • Yes I like less wires & with rechargeables it's not that hard.

  • I have a Logitech G915, pricey but I love it. Has been years since I had a wireless keyboard, and this thing is flawless. Last a couple of weeks between charges with me using it 8+ hrs per day for work and personal use at the moment. And I can keep using it while charging via USB.

    • I looked at the G915, is supposedly very good. Is it a pain to charge though?

      • Not at all, it's just a micro USB to the back of the keyboard. I have some USB outputs on my monitor, so just connect it to one one those and keep going with it just being like a wired keyboard for a couple of hours (I actually have no idea how long it takes to charge).

I suppose it might be if you didn't have a USB output on your desk somewhere.

    • I want to get that keyboard, but I'm a little worried.

The switch stems don't look very stable, and there is some wobble in the keys from what i've seen online. I wonder if it will end up breaking off.

I've had a logitech g pro keyboard for the past two years and I absolutely loved it, but the switch design is so flimsy, my A and CTRL keys ended up snapping off their stems because they were only held in by those 2 little plastic clips, which then got embedded into the switch itself and unable to be removed. The CTRL I could somewhat live with, but I needed to use my A key lol.

It looks premium and I'm sure performs well, but for the pricepoint, durability is my main concern. I paid 250 for my previous logitech keyboard and had it break from general wear & tear in 2 years, so I'm very hesitant to commit even more money to what looks like even flimsier keyboard switch design.

      • I bought mine mid last year. Haven't noticed any key wobble and haven't got any concerns with durability yet, but don't think it has even been on the market for 2 years yet.

        • I was referring to my Logitech G Pro re: the 2 years comment, which use similar plastic clips to connect the keycap to the switch.

  • ENELOOPS ;-)

  • If you are conflicted , buy one with both.

  • Logitech k750 wireless solar keyboard. No need to worry about batteries. It does contain a small rechargeable watch type battery which can be replaced when it runs down in 10+ years. The solar charger works off general room light, no sun needed, has never run out. Switched to this keyboard while working at home. Love it. Very portable too.
