Seeking Recommendations for Electric Heater for Large Room (55 Cubic Metres)

I recently purchased the De'longhi 2000W Slim Line Panel Heater (HCX3220FTS). The model advertises Fast and uniform warmth for room sizes up to 60 Cubic Metres. The model came highly recommended by Choice Magazine. However, this heater was very underwhelming. It never felt like it made a noticeable difference to the warmth of the room even after running overnight. You had to almost be sitting on the thing to feel the heat coming off it. I have had better heaters from Aldi or Kmart! Looking to replace it with something but not sure what to trust now.

  • Micathermic instant magnetic radiation warmth

    • Recommend a brand?

      • Just buy the biggest wastage you can from Bunnings . I got a 2400w and it’s really good . Had it for the past 6 years

Make sure the room doesn't have drafts or leaks. Windows, doors, lighting fixtures. It should be ok over night…

    • no ventilation ?

  • Cover your windows, tuck a blanket over the curtain rail to seal the gap at the top and hang over the curtain

    Put draught snakes under doors

    Rugs on the floors

Any heater should be able to warm up a room overnight if these things are done. Sounds like the heat is escaping faster than it can be produced.

  • Wood fire combustion heaters are almost free to run. Pay for a one time installation and the occasional clean is cheaper than electrical or gas heaters.
