    Wow wow weeeee wa

  • Can you not sign up for a free Prime trial during this deal?

    • +1

Pretty sure you should be able to. Prime is only $7 of you can't.

    • It worked for me mate! Thanks OP!

    • I could sign up without issue. Getting the app working on my phone proved to be a bit harder - I ended up having to use the call for the OTP, rather than a text message.

  • got one. thanks op!

  • i sold my copy in April for $60. I know it has had a lot of updates since launch and I still had my old save file. Looking forward to jumping back in.

  • Wow, good price. Pity I didn't wait and got it last week for $64 from Amazon!

  • +3

Woohoo! Free Prime trial + first time using the app = $39 :D

    • Wait a sec, what app?

      • Amazon Android App, first time use gets you a $10 discount code.

    • What’s the code?

  • Great price. Mine getting delivered today which bought for $64 a couple of days ago :(

    • +1

Contact amazon to price match and refund diffrance and if they cant just return it and buy new one at $49 price.

      • Cannot place a new order if you’ve already purchased it recently. As this item has one per customer limit. Better to contact amazon.

  • Thanks for the heads-up OP, got one as well. Great price

  • Thanks, Deal claimed now.

  • Got it in time but its sold out at lightning price now.

  • Would this get any cheaper next year? I’d like to buy for my nephews but they aren’t getting a Nintendo switch and games (including the Pokémon sword gam) until Christmas

    • +2

It's a really popular title so I doubt the price will drop. $64 is probably a reasonable standard price if you don't want to wait; but it certainly won't drop lower than $49.

    • +1

No chance, this price was nuts for a big Nintendo exclusive game.

    • +1

This is Nintendo's second highest selling game on the Switch. Current second hand prices for the game hover around $50 - 60, so it's unlikely to get any cheaper than this. The best chance you would have is that the price on Black Friday sales would be the same.

Excluding Prime exclusive prices, the cheapest it has been on Amazon is $61: https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B083TYVJ22?context=se…

  • Any good?

    • heaps good, over 300 hours for me

      • +1

I'm interested but I'm a 38 year old. It looks like a game for toddlers.
Is it for anybody of any age?

        • +3

To put it simply, imagine a sandbox-like world with animals. In the game you just collect items, build your own island, and make friends.

I'm not sure how appealing it would be to older adults, since it is very childish. Personally I had a blast, albeit I am the main demographic of this game. But it eventually runs out of steam.

I'd personally look into let's plays on YouTube before you decide to purchase it since my opinion alone wouldn't be enough to make a clear judgment.

        • I thought the same, until I was visiting friends on their islands and spending hours getting excited about catching new fish
It's a nice escape, and great price too. Can't really go to wrong

  • Missed out, bummer.

    • It's live again as we speak.

  • ok - is Kirby Star Allies gonna make an appearance at sub $50……

  • +5

On again for 2 hours or when sold out.

    • damn that's awesome, cheers hamza

    • beauty - cheers mate. was waiting for it to hopefully come back at $49 as I picked up a Coral Lite for the missus but was after the first AC deal.

  • Too 'hard/boring' for a 7 and/or 10yo? They prefer action games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bro, Donkey Kong etc. so not sure what they'd make of this.

    • +1

Depends. Do they want to spend 400+ hours to meticulously decorate an island? Also, if they're sharing a Switch you can only have one island per console. So the first person will be the main person and the second profile who plays will have their own house and stuff but it will be the same island as the person who has the first profile.

      • Thanks, will give this one a miss then, TV ads sure do a good job making them think they want/need this game!

  • This game is offline yea?

    • +1

Yes offline but can also be played online visiting each other's islands.

  • +10

3rd switch game I have purchased today just need the console now.😀

  • Would it be better to get the digital version as I'd assume this game you play more on casual bases? Switching cartridge often might be annoying?

    • Depending on how often you play it really. For me it has replaced every single game that I used to play (Splatoon 2, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Fortnite)

    • Yeah that is what I did, I prefer games like this, other sim games, puzzle games and multiplayer games digitally as they are games I'll play only for a short while so no point swapping carts for them, plus I know I won't sell those games anyway, so no point getting physical copies of those types of games.

Unsure why someone would downvote you for asking seems silly.

    • +1

There's pros and cons to both digital and physical, plenty of write ups about it.

  • Is the regular switch worth the extra $100? I realise it allows you to connect to a TV but are there any other benefits?

    • Besides the TV thing which is great for some games, maybe the detachable joy cons? If the ones on the regular switch break or get drift or whatever you can just get new ones, but if it happens on the switch lite that might be an issue… If you never plan to play on the TV they the switch lite might be worth the savings I guess.

this game looks terrible, but I bought it anyway.
beause everyone has been talking about it all year.

    • -3

      keep negging, boys!

  • Hoping someone might know, I bought this using my promotional balance and at checkout said "$49 will be deducted from your promotional balance", then on the invoice it says $64. Since there is no way to check the promotional balance, was i actually charged $49 or $64?. Does anyone have any experience? Appreciate any input. Thanks

    • have you perhaps checked your bank account to see how much amazon has withdrawn?

      • This is promotional balance which you usually get for example when they had the buy a $100 gift card and receive $10 in promotional balance. There is no place to check the history of the balance. You can only see it at checkout for eligible purchases.

        • ah right, might have to chase that up with amazon then

          • @avgbowlofpho: Ironically even they can't check by promotional balance history. All they can tell me is how much i have at the current moment.

            • @JaeTee: Are you referring to your gift card balance or your promotional balance? If you bought a $100 gift card on the 13th from the Amazon Prime offer. Your gift card balance would be $100 and promotional balance would be $10.

              • @Stone Monkey: Promotional balance, i do not know how much in total i had but it was enough to cover the game in full. At checkout it says $49 will be deducted from your promotional balance but on the invoice it says total price as $64

                https://imgur.com/tyG5DxJ

                • @JaeTee: Items:

                  $58.18

                  Delivery:

                  $0.00

                  Total before GST:

                  $58.18

                  GST:

                  $5.82

                  Total:

                  $64.00

                  Promotion Applied:

                  -$15.00

                  Order total
                  $49.00

                  • @John Kimble: Thanks everyone for your input. Okay i finally figured this out by doing a test purchase using my promotional balance. So the part where it says Promotion Applied will be the full amount of $64 when you use your promotional balance ($49 + $15) and hence the invoice will show $64. It treats the amount paid with the promotional balance ($49) and the promotional discount ($15) as a total. This is misleading to think you actually paid $64 for the item. Hope this helps someone else in the future.
