Has Anyone Else Received Amazon Parcels They Never Ordered?

Just putting it out there, but I received an unexpected delivery the other day and was pleasantly surprised that it was from Amazon. Thinking I could have forgotten I double checked my order history and couldn't find anything that matched so I sent Amazon support an email wondering what was up. Long story short they're investigating and it could be possible more parcels could be sent and I can either dispose or keep it.

Has anyone else had this?

Edit: Parcel was a cheap mouse. Also forgot to mention this came from Amazon US and not Australia.

    What were the parcels?

  • did they have you name on the parcel?, check your archived orders.

  • Sorry yes, name and everything like as if I had ordered it. It was nothing special (unfortunately) just a $5 Verbatim mouse. Looking at the packing slip that came with it was ordered in August apparently. It's bizzare. Like who has access to my info? And why are they sending me stuff?

Might just be a mistake on Amazon's side, might be a secret lover…

Or both… maybe a secret lover at Amazon?

Although if Jeff Bezos was really into me then I'd probably be expecting more than a $5 mouse.

Make sure there's not toxic substance on the mouse… do you have any enemies?

      • Package is still sealed. So I think I'll be ok!

Mouse is probably fake and packed with cocaine.

Lookup "brushing". Basically it can be a way to get positive reviews for a seller.

I am pretty sure I have read about this before.

Doesn't it mean that your details (name and address) have been compromised.

Sellers then buy goods under your name and post reviews. The goods are usually of low value (such as a $5 mouse)
Basically it is a cheap way for them to pad out their 5 star reviews and bump their way up the search results.

Hasn't happened to me before, but has happened to others before…. same time this month last year…
    scary

    • All makes sense now. So essentially the sender is farming reviews for their amazon account.

      • Do you post reviews on amazon?

A couple of months ago I was looking at buying an ecovacs vacuum with an accessories kit and I had both items in my cart while I was shopping around for any better deals.

While the items were in my cart, I bought a garlic crusher on the app using “buy now” instead of add to cart.

Two days later the crusher arrived and then another 2 days after that the accessory kit for the vacuum I never bought also arrived.

Checked my card and account history and zero record of the accessory kit.

Just kept quiet and kept it, no ones come looking yet.

  • Speaking of Amazon UPS delivered the parcel to the house next door then falsely said signed for it.

  • My turn. Received one today, a Meccano set. I've been shopping with Amazon since 2003 and it's never happened before. Too bad it's not something I could use or want and it arrived very beat up so can't gift it and I'm not even sure if the Salvos will want it. Box has split open so won't surprise me if parts are missing.

BTW, it's a really old order number that's on the included docket. Starts with 205 whereas currently orders are starting with 250
