    Good price. Lukewarm reviews though.

    • Yep.Had a look around. This models reviews are pretty ordinary to disappointing…

I have this one. Got it for free from a supplier. It's really good - better than the Tiger branded one I used to own. Only downside is that it's a bit small.

Reviews can be misleading. I have had this for 2 years and can't complain. Compact but decent capacity. Never burns basmati rice.

I've got this model had it for a few years not, I've got no complaints put rice and water in walk away come back. It cooks rice. Never tried brown rice in it, and I never will.

    • bahahaha, well for those asking, it works well with brown rice also. Buuttt it takes like 2 hours coz it takes into account soaking time, i believe… :S

Purchased this rice cooker from Bing Lee about 4 years ago (for $79, I think). Never had a problem with it.

Waitlist is full. Rice is Cooked.

  • Damn, a bargain.

Any decent smallish ricecookers on sale? 5-7 cups.

Prefer a better one than the cheap $15-$30 Kmart, Kambrook ones I've had in the past. They don't last.

Don't need any fancy features, just need to cook white rice.

    Waitlist is full too :(

  • Is the 5 cups better then the 10 cups? Seems to be getting more traction and comments. Both can be put on waitlist. Appreciate any comments.

As well as the fact that being smaller makes it easier to store, the main reason is that these devices generally don't work as well when they are too empty or too full.

So the main question is, how often do you want to cook 5+ cups of rice? A standard serve is about 1/4-1/2 a cup. I have had this exact model for years and have never, ever cooked more than 3 cups at one time.

  • Now says "lightning deal has sold out".

Rather unimpressed with the whole wait-list function. I was on the wait-list for both the 10 cup and the 5 cup, said it would notify me when it was available, I got no notification at any point, but happened to press refresh when the 10 cup was available to buy. Looks like you get a 2 minute window to add it to the cart, which I did, and then it said my cart was empty! Went back to the page and said the wait-list was full. And I'm like "huh??? what just happened?". Since I could no longer get the 10 cup, I periodically checked on the 5 cup whilst in the waiting list, and until it showed as sold out, and had to refresh to see this. So wait-list does not seem to work (could not actually buy when you reach the front of the wait-list), and does not tell you when the item is no longer available; thus managing to be both simultaneously useless and time-wasting.

  • Wish 10 cup on lightning deal
