Myer ONE App Voucher Problem

I rang though to Customer Service this afternoon because I had noticed that a voucher on my MyerONE app had disappeared.

I had a voucher for $20 last month, with the voucher number and confirmation code visible and ready to use. I know for certain that it was there because when I made a purchase using my birthday voucher, I had considered using them both on that transaction. I decided to leave the $20 voucher for a bigger purchase and now it's gone.

The Cust Service rep insisted that what I was telling him has never happened before (apparently) so it simply could not be true… unless I have proof. He also said he looked at my account and he can see I used my birthday voucher but no other vouchers on my account…. But from what I could gather, he could only see USED vouchers…Although he insisted that I don't have a missing voucher. FYI, MyerONE have just changed their rewards system on 1 October too.

I don't have any documented proof of the voucher because I didn't have any reason to think I would need to create a copy of it outside of the app - this is only logical, after all, that is the purpose of having the app.

I believe there must be a record of the voucher somewhere on myer systems, as an individual voucher code number was generated. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get help with this or should I kiss it goodbye.

Of course I'm annoyed at myself for not using it when I had it :(

    How did you obtain the now missing voucher?

    • Either I hit the spend limit or it was through a promotion - I'm not sure.

      I believe you get $20 voucher when you earn 2,000 points and $1 is worth 2 points. (According to website, the points that don't convert to a voucher expire after 2 years.)

      So I can see in Myer account since January 2019 - June 2020 i earned 2,180 points so that should be $20 but I can't remember when I got the voucher.

      From 1 July 2020 to 30 September 2020 I earned 852 points. But i have a reward of $20 pending for this period in the app. It is a 'new voucher' currently being generated and wont be ready until November. The voucher says 'NEW CARD - Reward. Congratulations! Between July and September you earned enough credits to receive a $20 reward.We are currently generating your card and it will be ready soon.'

      From October 1 to today, another 407 points.

      The app shows my tally for this period (I assume October - December quarter) to have 937 points though. If I count backwards my points from now I get to 935 points half way through my list of purchases made in the same transaction on July 18… Confused.

  • I had a voucher disappear once when I was paying. The lady scanned the code on the app, but it wouldn't go through. When she tried to scan again, the code disappeared. Luckily I had the code in an email.

    • Oooh, so they DO disappear!
      I checked my emails but they never emailed them to me that I can see. (Or they went right into junk and got deleted.) Aw-shucks! :(

      • They disappear once you use them to pay. Always good to screenshot before using them to pay just in case

        • OH no…. I think I put it in to the transaction and then stopped the transaction and redid the purchase without it… maybe that's how I lost it?

          • @mizzkitty: Possibly, but it should reappear if you haven't actually used it.

            • @kerfuffle: it 100% didn't go through cuz the sales rep could only see one voucher I had used - a birthday one.

                Then what did you mean by this statement? Because this sounds like you tried to use it online

                • @kerfuffle: Yes, I considered to use it online but it took my purchase total below the free shipping threshold (I hate to pay shipping) so I went back and started the transaction again and this time entered birthday voucher - a $10 one instead of the $20 voucher. Also the sales rep could see I used the birthday voucher but no other voucher…

                  • @mizzkitty: It's a gift card i.e. method of payment … it shouldn't affect your free shipping. If your cart was $51 and the voucher took it to $31, it shouldn't be asking you to pay for shipping :/

                    Also how long ago was this transaction?

                                This sounds like you tried to use it, before deciding to use your birthday voucher instead. If it didn't actually get used, it would have appeared back on the app.

                                • @kerfuffle: I didn'tt make the purchase with it therefore I didn't use it… I removed it from my transaction.
                                  I think the "system" just incorrectly registered it as used even though I never got to spend the amount.

                                    You tried to use it. If it didn't go through, the voucher would have reappeared back on your app. Guess the system wasn't in your favour this time.

                                      I checked what the total amount would be with voucher applied, if i tried to spend it I would have clicked through and completed the transaction with it applied, which I didn't….

  • Kiss it goodbye, I had a $10 voucher that had an expiry of 24/12 (example), went to use it on the 23rd and the voucher was marked 'expired'. Called the support who emailed or told me a case number, emailed through the voucher referencing the case number and didnt even get a response back.

      • couldnt really be bothered as it was a pretty busy time, and i got sent a happy birthday $10 voucher (which i guess i would have gotten regardless), the one that i missed out on was a 'havent seen you in a while' kinda voucher. oh well, hardly shop there anyway except to use my vouchers haha
