    Also available Splendor $34.87

    • Oh I must've missed that. Added.

    • Oh man, was hoping for a sale on this yesterday but then missed the boat this morning :(

  • +1

Bought TIcket to Ride - always wanted to try Europe

    • +3

It's my favourite map, that or Switzerland. The stations open up a lot of possibilities, and I like that you get one long ticket guaranteed at the start. The map is huge and it's fairly well balanced.

    • +2

I much prefer it to the original, there's more variety in the routes and the rule updates make it a bit more interesting overall.

  • ticket to ride $48.49, making the best two TTRs < 100
    or is it TsTR

  • +1

+1 for Quacks of Quedlinburg - good for 2 players too. Great game.

    • Make sure you get the right price, search for it showed a cheaper price. Seemed to be UK as well.

      • +2

There's one listed at $58.30 but it's a German edition so just be wary.

        • +2

I have the german one (my partner is German) and I can't easily read all of the directions on the cards without double checking my personal translator, so definitely worth the couple of extra dollars to get in English! haha.

        • +1

Nice pick up! Luckily haven't ordered anything yet!

  • Is there any difference between this US-sold version, as opposed to one bought locally?

    • +3

Not that I'm aware of. Just make sure if you're buying locally to purchase from a reputable seller or game store. There are fake TTR sets with lower quality cardboard stock being sold on eBay and the like.

  • Recommendations? Wife and I like the occasional boardgame and the kids are 3 and 5 - probably still a bit young for these ones

Grabbed ticket to ride, heard a lot but never had it.

    • A little on the young side for many of the better ones. Maybe start around 5 - 6.

Jenga is $14.55 and not a bad classic buy.

Edit: If I had to pick one to play with the wife, I'd go with Lost Cities.

    • +2

      For wifey and you
Jaipur- two player game, fast paced, three rounds will take <30 minutes
      Splendor 2-5 players
      Pandemic- good cooperative game
The Crew- coop trick taking game
Lost cities- two player game, currently excellent price

  • Now showing as $59.45.

    • There is a prime deal button at the bottom

    • You'll need to click view offer as a Prime member.

      • Thanks, just figured it out.

        • +1

Looks like I've missed this game anyway, but can you tell me where that button was? Couldn't seem to find the damn thing, even earlier.

          • @Srey: Same here, couldn't find it. Are people sure you have to click something to view the lower price even when you're signed into Prime?

    • +1

Same - and no Prime discounts options anywhere on this site or Amazon. $59.45 looks to be the Prime price.

  • +2

    Great post. Thanks.

Arkham Horror: The Card Game is also on sale for $37.46.

    • Is it true that this has limited playability with the base?
and needs expansions like yu gi oh/ magic the gathering?

      • Yep, that's right.

      • I play with a close friend & find each scenario takes a couple of hours. It's rated very highly on BBG but could get very expensive if you buy all the scenarios.
Base game comes with 3 scenarios.
Each base cycle comes with 2 scenarios & then expansions after them.
They also suggest you buy a 2nd base to get enough copies of core cards like flashlight & supply cache.

I avoid all of this by buying the base for each campaign & proxying all the expansions & cards I want to use using akrhamdb. If you're not sure what proxying is you just print the cards you want and slide it into a sleeve over an unused card or even a generic playing card.

        • Thanks
Base for each campaign, so how many bases do we need to buy?

On another note where do you get decent sleeves at a decent price
So many brands so much confusion

          • @docians: Each campaign has a base that you should buy 1 of. Parts of it will be used across the whole campaign. Some people buy 2 of the base game which is a 3 part campaign. This is really only needed if you want to 3 or 4 players as you won't have enough cards for that many. For solo you would only need 1 & for 2-3 you can easily do with proxies.

I say this cause you only need flashlight in each deck. Emergency cache & knife can be useful but if you look at the card list you can see each player has a basic prebuild for the campaign.
            https://arkhamdb.com/set/core

Once you get to campaign 2 base you have a lot more card variety to actually build decks & get powerful alternatives to flashlight, cache & knife. You earn XP as you play through the campaigns so there is a low level of power creep & you will use base core cards less & less.

My best advice would be. Buy the base core, buy Dunwich legacy & proxy 2 copies of flashlight for each player in starting campaign.

As for sleeves, I never use anything less than 80microns as they tend to be slippery when stacked & rip easily. I love the feel of my ultimate dragon matte sleeves but it's expensive for large decks so I'm going try out some cheaper stuff. I mainly get off Amazon or Ebay or local game shop if I'm desperate enough to pay extra $.

Use this page as a guide for microns & when you browse to the game it will list the compatible sleeves with their colours or names. Also make sure you get AH LCG & not the AK 2nd Ed game.

sigh the obligatory cheaper at ebay quote
followed by our ebay has a lot of fakes quotes
followed by amazon sometimes has fakes
but in this instance they would not be posting a fake as deal of the day

      • +1

        Thanks for the info :)

  • Hail Hydra looks sold out

  • +3

Lost cities card game $18.47 (from USA, shipped)
an older game, but a good two player family game
ranked 68 on BGG family games and has Dice Tower's Seal of excellence

    • Thanks. Will add. That's a good one as well.

  • +1

Thanks! Picked up TTR Europe and The Crew which I've had my eye on for awhile.
Hoping they do a 20th anniversary edition in a few years as the 10th one looked schmick!

    • +1

they did a 15th anniversary edition which was crappy
please note TTR still comes out with tiny cards
at least if you buy TTR Europe as well you can use the full sized train cards to play TTR (but not the tiny tickets)

      • Ah good to know, thanks!

  • +1

Bought The Crew The Quest for Planet Nine Card Game on impulse. Great reviews and worth a try at that price.

  • TTR looks sold out

    • Looks so :(

      • Had it in my basket :(

  • +1

Does TTR play well with just two people? Or does it really need more? I've been thinking about getting onboard this game (hah) for a while now, this would make a good household xmas present.

  • Hey guys is pandemic worth it at $39 or should i get pandemic legacy s1 at $60?

    • +1

Legacy has the base game which you can play to death (pun intended) and when you are ready move on to many next levels

If you have played but don't own a copy I would suggest legacy

If you are new to board gaming and unsure pandemic

    • +2

Do you have a consistent group of people to play regularly with you? Pandemic Legacy is the way to go then. You get 12-24 games to save the world in an evolving game. However it can be hard to come back to and remember what's happened if it's been months since you've lasted played. You can almost convert it to regular pandemic (has all the cards but some minor map differences and missing a few characters).

I think regularly pandemic is the better game to dip your toes in if you've just started and just want a family and friend board game every so often.

    • Where is it $60, I can only see it for 77

  • +1

Betrayal at House on the Hill is in the 25% list, goes to $36. That's cheaper than typical second hand! https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B003HC9734

  • Amazon's site is a bit stuffed, watch your prices on checkout and in cart, I get lower prices in the cart, and then prices bump up to full price on the checkout page for I have no idea what reason :\ And no, not sold out, can still add to cart etc at the sale price, and still selling via Amazon US.

Ok, not stuffed. It's just they do a 'display discounted price' then 'display full price' but summarize the total discount as a separate item. Super confusing if buying more than one or two things.

    • +1

Currently going through a dispute with amazon from yesterday where the discounts were not applied correctly, in addition, the "additional 25% off when added to cart" promotion.

Seems like their cart system isn't working quite right, double-check what you're being charged!

  • would anyone recommend queendomino?
I own a shelf full of board games (I do play 80% of them yes) of varying styles so I don't think I would hate it/be not suitable, looks like a good price, shall I add that to my collection too haha?

    • if you like kingdomino/ board games in general
if you have a shelf full of board games

then definitely yes to queendomino esp at this price

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered Jaipur and Lost Cities.

  • +2

Lost Cities is a fantastic game, as others have said - highly recommend. Makes a great present too for family and friends.

  • How do I get Splendor for $34.87? It's showing $50

    • Seems some prices/stock have changed since this morning.

  • +1

For anyone chasing sleeves for their new game.
