we have enough Fake News in Australia, we don't need another one from the US…

WaPo broke the Watergate scandal… and have 69 Pulizters. They are one of the last institutions to accuse of being fake news. Christ.

      • +10

The average OzBargain commenter can't pronounce Pulitzer. They do understand 69, but not in the way you've used it in that sentence.

      • -1

In my opinion, only those institutions that didn't blindly accept the 'wmd' lies are news worthy

      • +4

Can you imagine if something like the Watergate scandal happened today? I'm not even sure many people would care.

      • +4

The WP didn't break anything, an informer gave them everything and being a Republican President they went all in.

Pulizters are decided by peers with the same ideology as the WP, of course they will get them

Plus the news business has changed in 50 years, now it's just completely partisan reporting.

Watergate scandal was a long time ago… WaPo today is a very different organization. Jesus.

Wapo is an out of control woke-zone. No chance, no thanks.

on that note for those looney lefties out there guardian weekly have a promo of 6 issues for $6
might be worth its own post if anyone can be bothered.

You must be confusing the Washington Post with actual fake/low quality news such as Breitbart. The Washington Post holds themselves to some of the highest journalistic ethics and standards in the industry.

      • -1

The WaPo is almost the Breitbart of the left. Journalistic integrity is not in their wheelhouse.

        • -2

If it's not controlled by Rupert Murdoch, it's not the truth.

That's my motto when it comes to the media. It makes me feel good.

Thanks OP! I've long been considering to get a Washington Post subscription but didn't get one because I've already got one for the New York Times but at this price it's worth it!

    • Likewise, I'm on the Times for $1 a week so this deal is a cracker.

      • Bypass Paywalls extension is free.

You'd think an Amazon Prime account would entitle you to a free subscription.

I guess Jeff needs more $$

Not a deal given the bias of the reporting.

    • Yes reality has a well known liberal bias.

      • +3

Yes I take all my quotes to live by from late show hosts like Stephen Colbert as well.

If you want the truth just watch late night US TV 🤡

        • +3

hes not quoting anyone just stating his view.
The Looney left need to wake up to the fact that 90% ofthe population disagree with them and thats doesn’t make them right wing.

          • +1

@Garagesale: Fox News - now THAT's where the truth's at!

            • @john71: You dare mock FOX NEWS? BLASPHEMY, MAY GOD STRIKE YOU DOWN THIS VERY MINUTE WHERE YOU STAND!!!!

    • They do say terrible, awful things about poor Mr Trump.

They should focus on the many nice things he's surely said and done.

      • The Washington Post is working with the communist to empower QAnon and overthrow The Donald

  • This seems to be available through a library card and the press reader app

  • Sad is the day, that we have to decide if news is fake or not.
Sadder is the day when I am made a pawn, blinded by incited outrage that I be lead into the cauldron of fire, food for the belly of the treacherous

  • +1

It’s been $U29 for months. Far more reliable, trustworthy than anything from the Murdoch fake news.

  • Get the Bypass Paywalls extension instead, can confirm working for Washington Post.

anyone know where I can get cheap popcorn whilst I read the comments here?

btw - if you are posting sarcasm or satire, can you leave some form of flag. Many of the comments here read both as 'post truth alternative facts', *and satire - I can't tell which…
