Acer EI342CKR - any information on this monitor?

This monitor is listed on several Aussie websites, but I can't find any solid information on it anywhere, including on Acer's website:

https://www.mwave.com.au/product/acer-ei342ckr-34-144hz-uwqh…
https://www.umart.com.au/Acer-34in-UWQHD-IPS-144Hz-Curved-Fr…
https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/monitors/25plus-inch/839…

Ultradwide, 1440p, 144Hz, IPS for $899 sounds like really good value. All the Aussie sites say it is IPS, but B&H (only site I could find outside of Aus) list it as a VA panel:

  • On the mwave site, it says "available for pre-order". Has it even been released yet?

    • No, it seems it's not been released - but I'm surprised there is no information anywhere from Acer on the monitor.

  • If you look at BHP, you'll note they have all of the marketing guff (likely from Acer) rather than just a spec sheet. The guff says its a VA panel.

    "Take in the View
This 34" curved monitor's VA panel supports a 3440 x 1440 resolution with a 144 Hz refresh rate, a 1 ms response time, and a 100 million:1 contrast ratio, delivering 16.7 million colors with high-dynamic range covering 93% of the DCI-P3 gamut. Taken together, the screen is designed to deliver silky smooth and rich images that fill your field of view."

With the claimed 1ms response time and the price point, I'd reckon its VA.

    • Yeah that's what I thought - I contacted PLE about it, and they asked their supplier. The response was "Confirmed it to be IPS with our supplier". Bit of a weird one.

  • I am looking at this monitor as well as it shows a decent price for a 144Hz 34 Inches IPS panel monitor but the main concern like other people is whether the panel is confirmed as IPS.

I have confirmed with Mwave they said its IPS but the US website states its VA. Hopefully this thread gets updated once people hear something.

  • I've ordered one through a supplier I'm friendly with, ETA mid December. Got it at a great below cost price, so I was happy to risk it. Coming from an Acer X34 Predator and chasing higher Hz in 2k so I was happy to stick with Acer and give this a go. Will post back if info is still sparse on the interweb when I get it.
Acer's global and local websites are terrible.

  • Any news on release date? Would much prefer this over an Xiaomi Mi for $500

  • Scorptec shows its now available!
I've put my order in. Cant wait!

  • Looks like a VA panel https://we.tl/t-7TL3CMKya1

    • Thanks for the info.
Looks like Scorptec updated the spec sheet which shows that its a VA panel whereas the title still shows IPS. I bought the monitor when the spec sheet was blank but called both scorptec and PCCG which both confirmed its a IPS panel as stated from the manufacturer.
I'm going to clarify with scorptec once more and then cancel the transaction if it is a VA panel.
