    Do you recommend getting some work done on the roof before installing solar? ie. get the roof cleaned or repainted since if you want to get any roof repairs done after the solar panels go on can be quite difficult.

      Definitely recommend getting roof repairs done prior to putting solar on! A good Solar PV system lasts for 20 years on the roof :)

    Recently had the Fronius installed at mine and paid extra for the (consumption) energy monitor.

    Was worth the extra $300 tax from my installer..

      Hi mate,

      Unfortunately not. Deal is strictly for NSW/QLD and for a limited amount of customers.

      That being said, the cost for a system would be similar in Vic due to the Solar VIC Rebate and Loan.

    Which one is better between Trina/Longi/Jinko?

    I heard some people gets credit from energy provider after installing solar. How does it work? Will I be paid for the unused electricity?

      Trina, Jinko and Longi are all very similar in terms of warranty, reputation, efficiency, pricing etc.

      Often the choice is made based on the Home owners roof dimensions (as the panel dimensions vary slightly).

      Our installers love installing all three!

    What does 5+5 years warranty mean?

      First 5 years is a full warranty on the product plus the work involved replacing it. The next 5 years only covers the product - you have to pay for the work replacing it. Often you have to register with the manufacturer or distributor to get the second 5 years.

      Seems a ridiculously tight approach to a warranty by manufacturers.
